View Full Version : Count Me In!
No more "arm chair quarterbacking" for me. Finally figured how to get an 'authorization code' via my email provider to join the group...........now I is one........er, a member of the forum that is!
I have monitored this forum since 'day one' of its inception and have gleaned much valuable information on the Nomad. Maybe I will be able to offer something in return now.
Ride two-up with the wife as much as possible.......so far concentrating on Central TX, West TX, New Mexico & Arkansas. On the long trips we'll pull the bike in a trailer behind our 5th wheel......all 65' of us in the Diesel Dodge.
Hoping to start expanding our travels in about a year when we take early retirement and 'head for the hills'. We're starting to count the days.
Again, thanks for all the good information you guys have published on this forum. It has been and will continue to be very helpful.
welcome RAMMAN. Now we need a blowndogeramman http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
Thanks for the welcome Wolfman.
I have taken notice in the past that you are from Tooele. Not just alot of people around even know where that is. I spent alot of time out there around 1970.........working with those one-ton containers they store at the Depot. I had the opportunity to see alot of the surrounding area and it was just absolutely beautiful.........although some may not agree.
Take care

Ain't nothing like a Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel!!! Welcome RamMan!!
It's changed A LOT out here even in the past 5 years. Lots of people moving out of Salt Lake. They added 2 lanes from 1-80 all the way to Tooele to help the traffic flow. Lots and lots of new businesses. Still has a small town feel though.

Welcome RamMan! I see you have one of those faster black Nomads. Large lowers work good? That's my next addition. Welcome again, and glad you are here.

Thanks for the welcome BiscuitsNGravy. The oversized lowers virtually eliminate the buffeting. Made mine from scratch......real easy. Add an Airlite crash bar chap and it makes winter riding very nice.
Take care

I know where Tooele is. I used to golf occasionally at Stansbury Park and I used to service equpment at the hospital in Tooele and at TAD. When I was a teenager, we used to go rabbit hunting N of I-80 on the west side of the Great Salt Lake by those salt evaporation ponds. I even know where Erda is. I suppose that the cost of living is less in Toeele and the commute to SLC probably isn't as bad as it was from West Jordan. I think Tooele can even claim having the first WalMart in Utah.
Tooele is catching up with salt lake. You can still get a house for about 75,000 cheaper but projected to be about the same as salt lake within 10 years. The commute to the airport is a longer distance for me but about the same time for my friends that live in riverton and such since they have to fight bangerter HWY. I can make it to work in less than 1/2 hour.

Wait. You tow a fifth wheel trailer, and connect a bike trailer to that? Or is it a toy hauler camper?
Two separate trailers...........34' 5th wheel & 15' of enclosed motorcycle trailer.
