Hey Guys. I finally got around to uploading the pics I took last week when I worked on my bike.

Here's what I installed:
Rainbow effect "cage" for front headlight
Stebel Nautilus Horn
Kuryakn curved laydown license plate kit.
Mustang rear fender bib.

What I could not find to install:
the wagner 1210 H4 light. Advanced Auto didnt have it and that's where I buy pretty much everything. Is that giong to have to be an online purchase?

I love the look of solo but that mustang pad really Looks cheap. I want to buy something that matches the bag rails but does not take heavy modification. I'm worried about that. And it has to require no fender drilling.

I need tips on how to better hide and waterproof the wiring of my stebel. Any pics and tips on that would be appreciated.

That silly little rainbow cage is pretty neat looking and adds an extra eye catching thing for people to see in both day and night. Barely naticeable to you while driving though. You can see just a slight color effect.

Horn is pretty awesome too. Sounds like a mini-train. Instal went without a hitch. Just need to hide wires better like I said. Just flipped the bracket like a few others tipped off about.

LOVE the license plate kit. all I had to do was dremmel out the holes a tiny bit to make them wider to fit.

Looks good, real good.

If you move the relay to either under the tank or seat, then there will only be one wire running to the horn, assuming you can make a short out-of-sight ground connection. The wires coming from the switch can be pulled back under the tank to meet those coming from relay so they are not seen either. Use a black wire and black tie wraps and tuck in with existing wiring and you won't see a thing. Waterproofing then should not be an issue.

I used a red wire to the horn + terminal (came with the kit) and still barely seen.

Looks good. Too bad the left side view is blemished by that awful state inspection(?) sticker near the front shifter. Oh well, it's not your fault if the state requires it.

ona good note though. It is only about a three minute inspection. They have me drive the bike in the bay. He's like " well I can see your brakes work then." tells me to do the lights. do the horn. OK I'm good.
That's really about it.

sam I like the look of the license plate, I have some questions though. is your tag bigger than the plate frame? You said you dremmeled out hole, which holes, fender, license plate, back mounting plate??? Whats the product number? Must not be for Nomad 1600 im guessing since you had to dremmel, Did the kit contain the chrome backing plate too?? thx Sam. looking good.

I love the solo look. Did the same thing to mine and bought the same bib. Yep, cheap looking. I put the pillon seat back on but I plan to buy a fender rail that I saw on another forum.

The rail is found on meancycles.com pt# B162105. Its for a Road Star but if you can get past the no drilling issue, it looks really good. It also makes the bib lay down better.

I put the passenger seat back on in hopes that my wife would be able to ride with me some. She is having back trouble and cant ride her 800, the way it is goin she may not be able to ride 2 up with me either.

Looks good. I really like the solo look. My g/f has been having neck problems and can't ride much.I might have to shoot her to put her out of her misery. If I do I'll be going to the solo look.

Beautiful job. Come on down to NC, our motorcycle inspection stickers are silver and are placed on our front forks.

Kawiman, you talking about having to drill the fender or the rail piece? I think the one you are talking about is the one I am also looking at and I think I heard you just have to drill out the "tabs " a little bit wider on the rail to make it fits the holes we have already. The bigger question is what the hell is wrong with all these good companies making this stuff but none of it fitting the nomad? and then half the time when I find some stuff, it says 1600 but not 07.

Doc. IT was a full kit license plate. Came with a back that mounted exactly like ours with the little triangle bottom. It had three mounting points. I just used the original two holes our bikes have though. Plenty strong. The holes did not fully line up. I had to dremmel them out a little bit to make them have a little wider spread. Not that much at all. The main thing I had to dremmel was tha holes for my license plate. They just did not match. That was real easy too though.

Of the things I did. The plate kit and the horn are the products I am happiest with.

Heres the link to the kit

Your Nomad looks sharp!!!! Great color combo too! We have the same one sitting in our garage!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Hubby added the fender rack....it's for a Road Star, as already mentioned, but wasn't hard to fit. I see what happens though....once you start adding the bling, it never stops!!!!!
See the proof:

Cheri. I think that is one of the clearest pics of the rack I have seen. Correct me and fill in any information please.
It looks like the racck goes on OVER the bib I already have?(I always thought it was a one piece unit). To install the rack I need to take off the plastic piece on my fender that used to hold the "tip" of the bottom front of the passenger seat? and then the rack screws into the two holes there, and is not in any way attached to the one hole that holds down the rear of the driver seat?

Thanks, all for the comments and suggestions.

Okay, here's the scoop on the rack from hubby:

The Bib is in fact under the rack. The front edge of the rack IS held down by the front seat rear screw. Yes, you will have to take off the bracket for the front of the rear seat. You can get some pan head mm sheet metal screws to fill in these holes if you wish, I didn't. The rear seat screw hole will be used for the rear of the rack. I have mine set up in this order--- The fender bib is on the fender, then the seat bracket for the rear of the front seat, then the rack is sitting on top of seat bracket. I bent the nose of the rack in the front slightly to match the fender curve better. I also had to line up and drill a new hole on the front of the rack mount.

I hope this helps out. If you want better pictures, or close ups, let me know

That solo seat makes for sweet looking butt on the bike. I like the rails on CheriAnn's bike too. I'm surprised John Q. Law lets you get away with the coon tail covering the tag though....
Has anyone put taillight assemblies on their bags and used them as running lights and blinkers? That might look pretty cool on a solo seat bike too.

Thanks for the summation Cheri, much easier reading it than typing it. I didnt know you guys were on the KawaNOW Forum. Should have guessed though! ;)

I wish Kawasaki made a matching fender rail to the bag rails. What are they thinking? ::)

Here I was worried I was going to have to hide my new ride, when all along you've got one at home. LOL

samkjr, your bike looks great. It's got me thinking of many more possibilities. How do you like your (kuryakyn it think) foot rests.

I'm thinking of getting a set.

Yep those are the kuryakyn iso duallys. I love them and they have so many mounting variations and settings you are bound to get them jus right. Look around for a good price. I got mine on Ebay for only 72 brand new with shipping. Heck of a good deal.

I also bought the Mustang bib when I went solo and didn't like it. I ended up buying a set of chrome (plastic) caps that fit over license plate bolts. Set of four for $2.98 at most auto stores. I think they look much better than the bib.

I picked up a leather fender bib from Chilhowee leather. When i first installed it it didn't quite conform to the fender but they said give it a week or so and sure enough it laid down nicely.

Bike looks good, Have you got a pic of that rainbow cage thingy?

If you don't like the leather pad, which does look odd for some reason, maybe get a local leather dude to make a piece that is tooled with your name, symbol, flag, logo, sceen or just studs & concho. Lace edgeing looks great but the padding is weird like it's "trying" to be a seat.
Really like that laydown plate look.
