I have been trying to get away on a fishing/camping trip all summer with no luck. All of the planets are properly aligned this weekend and I am grabbing the chance. Taking my Bronco, Coleman tent trailer and pontoon/kick boat and heading out to a local reservoir. It is supposed to cool down this weekend so the crowds should thin out. Possible snow on Sunday and Monday. Best time of the year to fly fish for the same reason that it is the best time to ride the Nomad, no bugs. I will be back next week. If any of you are in the neigborhood of Chesterfield reservoir in SE Idaho stop in to say Hi. Have a great trip! And good luck fishing. Hope you at least get enough to not have to break into that emergency package of Oscar Meyer's... :-[

Good luck on your fishing expedition. May your creel be filled to excess, but not over the legal posession limit! Be safe!

Yeah, I use the catch and release method when I go deer hunting. I shoot the deer and then after tracking it and finding it I say OK mister buck, you can go now. They never seem to get up and leave so I have to take them home and eat them http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I'm back from my weekend. Man was it nice!!! Huge rainbows on a fly rod. Only really cold night was Sunday, woke Monday with a very hard freeze. Ice was forming around the edge of the reservoir but it melted off shortly after the sun came up. Rained all night Saturday and half the day Sunday. Went fishing in the kickboat anyway and two of my friends from the fly club showed up. We had a blast.It was nice to get away for a few days. Fished all day and tied flies at night from new patterns that I traded other fishermen for. Up before the sun with hot coffee and oatmeal and on the lake before sunrise. Fri, Sat and Sun I fished until dark. I have to admit that I killed one fish. My last one of the weekend. A 22 inch rainbow, decided to try it because the water is very cold and clear and the weeds are gone, hoping that it does not taste like weeds. I have a couple of pix that I will try to get posted if I can download them from my phone.
