The weather tonight was fabulous for riding, I could have kept going for hours. Hopefully it will stick around for a while.

BD, try you a set of "beaded seat covers". You can actually fell the air moving under your ARSS.

Very much interested in hearing how well it works for you. Need specifics though, problems you had with stock seat and your H/W for comparison sake. Thinking of getting one myself over the winter is money is available.

I bought a beaded seat cover at Auto Zone for about $10.00 and then used an upholstery needle, and some heavy test nylon twine, restictched out one the size I need. The beeds are not black, but I suppose I can spray paint them. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Doc...Ultimate is a brand name. http://www.ultimateseats.ca/
Very expensive. All four pieces runs around 800.00. Plus they have a 14 day, money back, trial period.
Was suppose to be ready in July, now its Nov.

I've heard nothing but rave reports from owners, starting with Oldbiker who use to have one on a Wing. Said he did 750 miles one day with Ultimate seat.

I'm to the point were I don't care about cost. Just want seat, not Mustang, that doesn't set my butt on fire after 100 miles!

That is right. What RB said. Beadrider.com. I bought a set for my bike. I think it ran around $50.00 plus S/H. That is the rider and passenger set. I liked mine when the weather got warm. Could ride for miles and not have a wet bum when I got off. Even felt nice when riding in 30 degree weather. Like sitting on a block of ice. Nice and cool.

I have a beaded seat cover on my seat and it really does allow air to circulate under your arse. I got mine locally at Ron Ayers for $19.95. I don't know if they list them on their website or not.

Let us know, I've looked at the seat a couple times and just havn't been brave enough to shell out the cash without any feedback.

Did you try the Mustang and it didn't work for you? I was thinking of getting that seat but am interested in your experience.

FYI... I have had the Mustang seat since I got my bike in March, and today took a ride with my new Alaska Leather sheepskin, which arrived Friday night.

First impressions are that its definitely a step up, but in 90-95 degree weather I would say nothing is going to stop a little wet butt http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I bet it is going to be nice in winter (Socal), and it did feel better getting on the bike after it had been left in the sun a while.. definitely much better than black leather in the sun.

I wonder ... if I put beads on sheepskin on Mustang.. is that the ultimate Nomad seat ??? ::)

About 3000 miles after getting the Nomad, I installed the Mustang regal seat. Big improvement to my 2000 model 1500. Rode like that for another 5K or so miles. Mostly no more than one hour @ a time, sometimes two hours plus or minus. Was not unhappy. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gifButt, about four weeks ago, we went on a trip through Arkansas to Missouri. Before leaving on our trip, I formed a pair of full covers from sheep-skin for the seats, loaded up and rode off. Ran out a couple of tanks of gas with few stops 1st day. left the skins on during the entire trip.

The sweat factor was minimal and it did get http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gifHOT for at least 3-4 of the 9 days we were out. Had some strong rain @ one point. A little time with the local laundrymat and we were golden. Just threw it all in with some other things. The comfort level was close to something you see in a charmin commercial. Our collective arsses were happy.

Oh, and even though she's cute, My Kelli's backside was not smokin' when we hopped back on the bike after an hour or so in the lunch hour parking lot (I got points for that one http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif). Neither was my own posterior (smokin') butt that is another story. Haven't tried the beads, but I am curious.

BD, I've noticed the same. I and my wife can ride much further between stops when it is cooler. I too am waiting for the Ultimate Seat. I wish I had sent Spencer my stock seat to modify during Gustav. I haven't ridden for 2 weeks now. It would have been the perfect time to give Spencer a shot. If his work is as good as his communication it has to be a comfortable seat when he finishes.

I have used a propad gel pad with real sheepskin and it solves wet butt, and hot seats when you get on. Can ride alot longer than stock seat. Its not a Mustang seat but its cheaper.
