OK, I have heard this complaint for some time; " My crap falls out of my hard bags when I open the door" and to be honest, I have not written about the solution until now because:
1. Too stupid to put a picture on this site...
2. I was thinking this was talked about on some other site, and didn't want to sound like the "inventor".

So, if your stuff falls out of your beautiful hard bags... this is the solution. Take some plex- glass, measure your bags at the bottom, with the door open, it's curved you know so you will want to make a card board form first... Cut it so it fits the curved portion of the bag and fits close to the shape of the bag, it doesn't have to be perfect as the lip on the bag will hide any imperfections. I made mine about 6" tall. After you get everything cut, put it inside the bag, check the fit, if good, drill two holes in the plex-glass on both sides of the straps that keep the door from falling down when the door is open, and put a zip tie through the holes and around the strap on both sides to keep it in place. All you're doing is making a levee (if you will) so to make the lip on the bottom of the open bag higher by 3, 4 5 or 6"... It's your choice on how high. Keeps all the little things in, so they don't come out when you open the door. You can see through it to see what you are looking for, and you can even take it out with just a snip of the zip ties, to get your travel bag in.
Sorry about no pictures, but this really works well for keeping your sh-t in while the door is open ! ::)

That is a good idea, and a lot less expensive than buying Kawi's travel bags.

Here's a thread that should help you figure out how to post pictures. If you need more help, PM me (personal message), and I'll do everything I can to help.

Meet meat, he is my brother (for real). Started at my request with a Kaw 900, 2007, it was the LT... Then after a season of the 900 he moved up to the 2008, 1600 NOMAD. Loves it (I think), he come out to Sturgis, with his lovely bride, from Illinois, to spend the rally with me and my daughter (wife)... Had a great time!!! He is no virgin to the motorcycle world, just on a 28 year sabbatical, while bringing up the offspring ya know... To let you know, he is a VET of the Kaws, a 1973, 900 ( 4 cylinder) fast one, and a 1974, 1000 (4 cylinder) faster one, among other bikes...
So, if you will, please send him a post telling him what a great brother he has !
