I was out for a ride yesterday and stopped by a place where there was a few bikes parked for lunch, I met a guy who makes very nice GPS and Ipod mounts out of polished aluminium. They where really good looking and well made. If your after something like this it may be worth considering taking a look.

I think the Ipod mounts are about a $100.00 and the GPS mounts are around $140.00 each.

Not bad. I have the good old RAM mount for my Garmin GPS and must say it is the best mounting system I've ever used. But these look quite neat!
