I'll be heading Fulton,Mo for the month of Oct.I'll be working alot(only 1 day off a week) but I was wondering if I should drag my bike with me and try to get some riding while I'm there. What is the weather like ?Are there any good short trips around the area ? Anything that is a "must see" in the area ? Any help making the decision to bring my bike will be greatly appreciated.

Definitly bring the bike. There are a lot of great rides here in Mo. You will be in the Central Part of the state. Hwy 63 goes from Iowa to Arkansas. Hwy 17 is a good ride and so is Hwy 19. We have a few Members up that way Macon/moberly area. I think you will enjoy Mo. in the Fall.

If you can, never leave home without it. What would you do on your one day off. You might as well enjoy yourself.

Let us know when you get up here. Late October is prime time for fall colors. You will be just about 90 minutes from our house. You will have plenty of time to ride the river road at Hannibal and the Mark Twain Lake area. Octoberfest at Herman and Hwy 100 to Jefferson City. We ride some great black tops out east of Fulton over to Herman. Great little restarant in Fulton called the Old Post Office. As far as weather your should have day temp's between 50 - 75 and night running 40 to 60 degrees.

You will really enjoy riding here. Where you're going to be, you should have a lot of great roads to ride. The trees are just beginning to turn colors here. The Nights have been getting cool , high 50's, and warm days 70's-low 80's. Let us know when you get here, maybe we can get some people together for a ride.

I would run hwy 54 down thru the Lake of the Ozarks to Camdenton. Take Hwy 5 south to Lebanon. Then you could run the old Rt. 66 to Springfield. It has parts that run along I-44. Take Hwy 65 south to Branson. From there its not far to N. Arkansas. Alot of great riding in the hills. In branson not sure what you want to do shows, silver dollar city, etc. there is alot to do there. The weather is suppose to be great this weekend. I hope this helps.

If your not in a hurry, I'd take 54 south to 17. Take 17 south to 32. Take 32 west to 95. Take 95 south to 76. And then 76 west to Branson. We kind of came back this way from Eureka Springs last week it has lots of hills and curves. Highway 5 south out of Lebanon is a nice ride also. And 133 southeast of Jefferson City south to highway 17 is not bad either.

Watchman, great ride suggestion. I will have to take that ride someday also. I have rode all of them, but nut together. I live about 12 miles from the 17/32 junction in Roby. Nomad561, i may take a ride towards the Branson area on Sat. So, if you see a Blue/Silver Nomad say hello.

We was there on our return trip from ES. Went up and ate at the Cave Man Bar B Que and then headed home. From where you are at I like to run Hwy 32 east over to Bixby and then take 49 north to 19 and up 19 to Herman. There are just so many good roads down there by you it doesn't matter which one you take.
