:) :-/What is the difference in using seafoam or other name brand F.I. cleaners? What do you folks use? Do you prefer one brand over another brand? Do you just put it in the gas tank ? Thanks. :)

The ONLY experience I have with SeaFoam is.......My son bought a 1983 Honda SilverWing that was owned by an old man in Southern California. The bike had sat for 10 years in his garage. As a result, the carbs were completely gummed up. Before paying $500 for a rebuild job on the carbs, I put 1/2 can of SeaFoam in the tank for 2 tanks of gas, & now the bike runs smooth & gets about 50 mpg.
P.S. FYI, I found SeaFoam at Wal-Mart for $5.76

its a litle more pricey but seems to be mothers milk on this forum, good stuff. Buy it at wally world. 1 oz/gallon about once every 3 months. Clean throttle bodies with it too and a toothbrush freq. and can run it in your oil for about 50 miles then change oil.

I have used Chemtool B12 for several years. Works good and is very aggressive. I just bought a bottle of seafoam at wallyworld so I will give it a try.

In every motorcycle forum I've been on, Seafoam is revered as the "holy grail". It's an excellent product.

Seafoam. I also like Lucas Fuel Injection cleaner. Wal-Mart is the cheapest place I found for both.

I also read some where on this forum that it can be whipped into a desert topping.

Without the extra "s" it becomes a desert and it gets all dry and crumbly and tastes like cactus. Ptewy!!!

Then I stand by original post, you can use it as a desert topping.....

Seafoam has also advanced properties like eliminating moisture in the tank (or wherever you use it). It is a very pure petroleum distillate and works great in the car/truck, lawnmover, snowblower, you name it! Definitely my choice over any other product and fuel stabilizer. I usually buy it in a 6-pack ;)

When and how often should you use seafoam?

CC - I know of people who use it once a month but they also put a lot of miles on the bike. I think a good rule of thumb is to run one tank with it at every oil change. Pour some of it in the crank case about 50-100 miles before changing the oil, it will clean out carbon build up and sludge from the crank. DO NOT ride around with the stuff in the engine oil longer than 100 miles max. You can really run it in your gasoline all the time if you wanted to, but I think that's a waste of money.
