Just came across this Nomad "Drifter" on E-Bay. It is not bad looking if you like yellow and Drifters. Don't reall know if it is a converted Nomad or Drifter. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-Vulcan-NOMAD-2000-KAWASAKI-NOMAD-CUSTOMIZED_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ50020QQihZ00 5QQitemZ150284849099QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Digitally fuel injected. Check out the link at the top of the page, "KawaNow Nomad Specificiations". It shows a year-by-year of the nomad.

We learn something new every day. I love the look of the drifter front fender. I wish I could get a close-up in person look at on to see if I could adapt it to fit on my 1600.

I actually love it. I wanted a drifter but by the time I had money for a real bike all they were making was the 800. I wanted more.
I think if that was painted black and white like an old indian, I would seriously think about getting it.

In the next year or so I wouldn't mind buying a Drifter...used one.
Some 2000 Nomads were carbed, some were FI.

I don't beleive that one is FI, as it has the 4.2 tank and the std. speedo not digital.

Well I have been wrong in the past! Just ask my wife she will tell ya http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif I tried to zoom in on the side of the tank to see if it had a petcock or not, couldn't see it.
Nice bike anyway for sure.

JM2CMy '03 is FI with the same speedo. Look close at the speedo closeup shot there is a FI lightat about the 4-Oclock position. But what is that sticking out the side of the speedo housing at about the 9-oclock position?

Would it be the trip meter reset button?

Would it be the trip meter reset button?
I believe it is. The odometers are analog, so the means to reset them would be mechanical.

I have a 2000 FI. Same exact set-up
Small tank, analog speedo and that reset knob on the left.

OOOOPS never mind, I have a digital ODO, hence no reset. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif I thought chuckster131 was talking about a digital speedo.
I like it, but then, I like YELLOW http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
Ride safe,

I'll take my beating like a man if I'm wrong about this, but I don't there has ever been such a thing as a Nomad Drifter. There was an 800 Vulcan Drifter and a 1500 Vulcan Drifter. To my (rather limited) knowledge, never a NOMAD Drifter. Now, someone could have put a Drifter front fender on a Nomad, but..............................

That's what he did Bill, I e-mailed him and asked him what he had done. He just changed the fenders, The hard part was getting the front one cut so it would fit over brakes.

Here is another example:
http://www.scootworks.net/phppurple/91.jpg
This bike started out as a 2001 Kawasaki Drifter, was heavily cross-pollinated with a '99 Kawasaki Nomad, and had a few 'Vulcan Classic' parts sprinkled in for good measure.
You can see the project done by scootworks something like 93 pic. I think it looks good to.

Aside from being Teletubbie purple, that's a sweet looking bike right there.
