View Full Version : 100$ for your help finding a part

08-17-2008, 11:26 PM
:) Hello fellow members. I own a 2004 Nomad and am in the process of doing a Nomad transformation which I hope would include chrome disk and caliper chrome covers. Kaw sold this part under code number K53020-200M. This part was made for the 1999 Nomad, but I believe i can make it fit on my 2004. Kaw no longer sells the part but some dealers and distributors around the states might still have that part in stock. I just don't know which ones. My local dealerships do not. That being said, if you can find the part (which sells on clear out sale for 50$), I will pay you 100$. So 100$ clear for a few phone calls. Hope that stirs your interest and helps me find the part what will help complete my Nomad transformation.

CHEERS! and thanks for your help.

Hi and welcome!

Just for fun I threw that part number in on Ronayers site and it came up. Now that may mean nothing at all but have you looked there? If not, maybe give them a call.

Be careful folks. I Googled that part number, and one of the sites that Google found is broadcasting malware.

Malware can be a virus, a worm, a trojan, spyware or other bad software.

I do not think anyone is causing intentional trouble though; or at least not Andre2.

Welcome Andre...

So 100$...... You're not from Nigeria are you? ;)
I think that's how they say $100 in Nigerian http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

We have an "andre2" and also an "andre", and from the identical profile info I believe they are both the same fellow. Maybe someone with Admin authority can check that, but I really do not think the trojan my system blocked was andre's doing.

BTW, that is a legit part number and all, and andre had posted about doing this mod in the past.

Could you take your existing parts, or maybe replacements, to a shop and have them chromed? I know there are places here in Houston that do that kind of stuff.

Hello again fellow members,
Thanks so very much for the warm welcome to the Kawanow site. Nomad owners are such great people. Just to put your mind's at ease, rest assured, I'm not from Nigeria, I know nothing about computer bugs and my offer is legit. So far I've made the calls at the spots listed below but still have not been able to locate part number K53020-200M (chrome caliper and disk covers). Distributors have it on their sites but since Kaw has discontinued the part, they cannot get it. I suspect my best bet will be a dealer or a distributor that would have it in stock. Here is te result of my search so far.

Vista Kawasaki: Not a available
JC Whitney: Not available
Cheap cycle parts: Not available
Cruiser Customizing: Not available
Ron Ayers: Waiting for response
Powers Edge: Waiting for response

Know that my offer still stands. The part is sold for as low as 38.95$. If you can find it at your local Kaw dealership or distributor, I'll add 100$ for your troubles. Again thanks for the welcome.

2nd follow up: Finally managed to reach Ron Ayers and Power Edge. Both distributors told me they could not get Kawasaki part number K53020-200M (chrome caliper and disk covers) since it was recently discontinued and that they did not have it in stock.

Still confident the part will turn up somewhere.

CHEERS everyone,

Andre2

No luck both venders did not have the part in stock. On the bright side I believe i might have located the parts (used) from a rider who had taken the parts off his 2000 Nomad. I'll let you know if this works out.

CHEERS!
