View Full Version : Talimena ride (updated ride date 9/27/08)

I am looking to put together a ride across the Talimena trail, Nomads lets get together and assault it!. We will start out of Antlers OK up hwy 2 and 271 to Talihena Ok to start the trail. We will ride the trail over to Mena AR to have lunch, and then back thru the valley to hwy 259 to Broken Bow OK and then hwy 3 back to Antlers. Altogether this will be about a 250 mile ride, This is some of the most scenic, twisty, up and down riding around! If anyone wants to spend the night after getting back we have motels in town, and then I will put on a barbeque for the next day, for us to hang around and swap stories. The dates are open, looking forward to your input, lets make this happen!! ( UPDATE) Alright we have a ride date of Sept 27 2008 we will meet at the Shell station in Antlers OK. on the west side of town on HWY 3 at 10am. If you need directions just let me know. Lets get together and ride!

That sounds great Nightmare depending on the date maybe I could meet you in Mena for lunch and then ride back to OK with you but it is about 300 miles to Mena for me I would have to leave early to make lunch.

Keep us posted, great riding up that way, and for those who rather ruff it, beavers bend state resort park has great camping accomidations.

I would like to go and will be watching for the dates of the ride. It just depends on a couple of things. My daughter is due with her first baby September 15. Sounds like a good time.

I wish I could be there with you guys, but I'll be coming back from a week-long trip to the Texas Hill Country on Friday, Sep 26th. It'll be hard for me to turn around and leave again Saturday morning.

You guys have fun, ride safe and take plenty of pics.

I have planned a trip months out with some people I know in Dallas. We will be staying here through the week end http://www.queenwilhelmina.com/ If anyone is interested in tent camping I have about three tent spaces that I reserved at this place but we aren't going to use so heres a chance for a free-B.

Nightmare has been on all my setup info. If you get a group down there give me a call. it would be nice to meet you guys. 417-529-9130.

If any body from MO wants to head down and ride with us also let me know. We are leaving Monett MO Friday morningish and coming back Sunday noonish.

Will do, Bob T. I am waiting on a new grandbaby to get cleared for the trip. I am also hoping the wife can follow behind with the truck and fifth wheel trailer. If not, I still may go with you and Al.

Plus I admit up front, I dont do rain. Too old to be uncomfortable. And old enough to admit I dont like riding in it. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Sure has been quiet. Who is planning on going. I know there is a lot of Nomads in this area so there should be more people interested in going. Come on the more the merrier.
