Looks great. Wompos rack and Scootworks, right? That is the same rig I am wanting to purchase soon. That's the only way my wife and I can make overnight trips with all of the stuff she has to pack. The only problem is I will have to paint mine. I don't know how the black will look over red/titanium?? Comments on the color scheme are welcomed. How do you all think it would look leaving it black?

That looks real nice, the wife will appreciate it, now take her for a ride.

That looks like a pretty good trunk for the money. You definately need to get some red on it, but on a black & red bike it will pass for a while as-is.

That's a Wompus rack with a Mutazu DYI trunk (w/optional wrap-around backrest) mounted on it.

Those LED lights for those trunks in the little spoiler are notorious for malfunctioning.

I got my trunk from e-bay, try there. I had a wompus rack but i removed and made my own so the wife could still use the hand rail that came with the bike

Here's where I got mine Mutazu (http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=1&menu=DMY%20Trunk%20Series&product_id=16&s=prod.php)

They come in a bunch of colors, well H-D colors. They have decent customer service, too.

thanks for the nice comments. I plan on a paint job for it to include some red. I got the trunk from Mutazu and the wompus rack, which fit perfect all the holes were spot on. next project will be getting the v&h duel bagger pipes on.

Yes, you have that beautiful 08 Red/Black. I really like that shade of red, and I'm sure you gain a little speed from the black. That trunk will really look nice when it's painted.

Looks very nice on your bike. Personally, I'd leave it as is and spend the money on something else. I will have to paint mine though, but I may just have a chap made up to cover the red color. I fixed it though with photo enhancing software for my sig pic.

The rack is a bit plain but it does the job. I had it powered coated at a local shop for $20.00. I used a 2x12 as a spacer under the trunk to give it some lift so the wife would feel a little safer about leaning back. The fringe is used to cover the wood a bit. All in all im happy with it.

CJ, Was the optional base plate required to mount the trunk to the Wompus rack or did the base of the Mutazu trunk sit flat on the Wompus and bolt down there? Those trunk prices are much more appealing than Scootworks. My bike is Candy Cardinal Red over Titanium metallic. I think I'm going to go with the silver trunk. The reds would be difficult to match up. I'm going to build my own rack to mount the trunk on. I have a sheet of 1/4" alluminum that I may use rather than carbon steel. No worry of rust.

Will do. I like what you and Dan did with leaving the grab rails in place. Removing the trunk when not needed would be a snap by unbolting the rack and putting the stock backrest back on. I'm debating going that route also. Good thinking by both of you.
