Im just wondering how many of us has a trailer we pull behind our bike. Is it home made or did you buy it. I made mine using a car topper i got from pep boys.

...and...do you have a picture of it? We're abstract thinkers here, we need visuals http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif
I am in the process of building a trailer myself. I used a Harbor Freight frame and just today bought the Voyager XL cargo carrier for it. I won't have it mounted on the frame for awhile, so I don't have any pictures of the carrier yet. Here's a thread with pics of the work I've done thus far: http://kawanow.proboards77.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5794&page=1

Mine is home made. I had an old boat and trailer that a tree fell on and crushed so I took the axle and springs and narrowed it. I made the rest of it from scrap I had laying around the shop. The rear box is what I carry 2 gallons of gas in on long trips. It is mounted on a receiver I made in the rear of the trailer so I can take it off easy. The big box is from Wal-Mart. I have it mounted where I can remove 4 bolts and then it's a flat bed trailer. The cooler rack is from an old motorcycle luggage rack. I mounted a bicycle kickstand to prop it up. Pulls great! Can't tell it's behind the bike. It weighs about 120 lbs empty. I plan on making a bike rack where I can convert it and haul 2 bikes in place of the big box. The trailer (outside fender to fender) is exact width of the Nomad bags. I also made my receiver hitch on the bike. I added a spare tire and rack after the first picture below. It has 23 lbs tongue weight which seem to be ideal. It stays the same loaded or empty.

zoom45, great looking trailer setup you have there. I like that a lot. Looks like you can take quite a bit of stuff with you, which would be real handy.

Soon to be pulled behind my new V2K. The Nomad was just a little short on the power curve for pulling a trailer this large.

That's a really nice trailer, Big John. I can see how that might be a little hard to pull with the Nomad.

My trailer is an Aluma. I've never had a single problem with it.
I installed foam and carpet on the inside. There has been more than a few people step over my buddy's $5000 Goldwing trailer to look at my $1500 Aluma.

I posted a while back that I was picking up a trailer from a guy at work for $100. Here are the pics he sent me.

I will be doing some paint and carpet work. It is old but in excellent shape. I am thinking I will extend the tongue so I can add a cooler rack.

Looks like it will be a fun project OP!! I'm just curious why you would want to change out such a stylish carpet scheme??? LOL!!!

I was wondering about that carpet theme myself. Sure must have gotten a deal on that carpet.

Mine in a Starlight trailer, model Jupiter. I towed it on a round trip from Oklahoma to Utah and couldn't even tell it was there.
