The hitch looks great Nancy. I have thought long and hard about getting a trailer hitch from Joe. Amy told me that if I bought a hitch then I'd be telling her that I have to buy a trailer. THAT means Mo' Money, Mo' Money, and even Mo' Money! The bad part is that I just started graduate school and at $1,200 for each class plus the cost of books my hitch and trailer are definitely going to have to wait. :(

You don't necessarily have to buy a trailer. There's a place in Northern Virginia that rents them out. http://www.openroadoutfitters.com/

Ken has a trailer and the autolink thing that he had with him in Elkins. We're not getting me a trailer but he thought it would be good for me to have a hitch just incase we are out on a trip and his bike breaks down - we could still take the trailer. Also thought about just getting that thing where you carry a cooler on a rack that hooks up to the trailer hitch. That way we would have a cooler if Ken is using the autolink instead of the trailer that has a place for a cooler.
FYI guys it was easy to put the hitch on....only took about 30 mins everything fit perfect.
I've never had my saddlebags off before. When Ken took them off I went...yikes....so I cleaned the bags, fender where can't reach with bags on, pipes and back wheel. http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif

Went to your picture pages on the hitch and came across the Video

Wondering if you have the story on the outcome?
By the way, how long did it take you to find the two bolts for the hitch.

Reloader - no the envelope package with the bolts was not hidden - it was just your luck..
The pic of the guy running into the car I just picked up off of photobucket to put on a thread for a joke....no idea of the outcome hopefully he is okay.... :-/

My hitch should be on the way shortly......Can't wait to put it on so I can tow that nice new Timeout tent trailer to a campground somewhere....Oh Boy!!!!
Well, the hitch looks plenty stout. You'll probably be able to pull far more with it than you'll be able to safely stop. Please keep that in mind when towing. The one time I rode around with a trailer behind a Nomad, I noticed that it did want to push me around a bit.

Well at least the humidity in AZ is 21%. The humidity here has been 80% with temps of 99 - 100. http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif
Eeeeewwww! That's muggy.
We've been hovering around 100o but no humidity to speak of.

I know that we are talking about the hitch, but I noticed the additional tail lights and wanted to ask you where you found them and how you like them. (Is there a different thread about these? Thx)

I love them...they burn all the time but also go brighter with the tail like when hit the brakes. I must confess I had them installed at a Kawadealer in Mississippi while he was installing my cruise. He had a Nomad and had them on his...so I asked if would order and put them on my Nomad. Functional and I think they are set off nicely on the crome. I Do think he had to bend them slightly to make them conform to the curve of the chrom. I also have the license plate lighted frame...he did it all for me at the same time.

Typically we're at about 10% humidity - hey, it's a dry heat. This time of year, during the monsoon we can get as high as 40%. I'll take 115 and 8% humidity anytime over 100 and 30%.
I lived for a time near Memphis, I know how hot and sticky it can get in other places.

Ummmm...go easy at first.
