I have a 07 Nomad, with about 6,000 miles. I just noticed a few drops of oil under it in my garage for the first time, as well as some burned on oil on my left exhaust pipe.
After looking underneath, I see where it is coming from. There is a banjo bolt on the very underside of the bike, kind of up under the large chrome alternator cover. I did not have time to remove the left floorboard and shifter pedals, so I can remove the alternator cover for a better look, will do that Monday night.
Anyhow, has anyone come across anything like this? I put a 12mm wrench to the banjo bolt that appears where the oil would be leaking from, but it was very tight already.
Any advice would be very helpful. While the bike is under warranty, I have a service manual, and am pretty handy at rebuliding engines, and have always serviced my own bikes.
Thanks in advance!
Chris

There's 2 banjo bolts on the oil line to the bevel gear case, and there's a banjo bolt on the clutch slave cylinder. That one is further forward and would be leaking brake fluid and not engine oil, of course. There's a plug on the bevel gear case that sometimes leaks as well.

If the bolt is already tight and it still drips, it may be a matter if replacing the washers and retightening. Should be a washer on both sides of the banjo. I do not know in this case, but I've had banjo washers that were connected like a clip and took care of both sides at once.
I think they are copper washers, soft so they will form fit.

'07 under warranty?

vampyre, Not to question your ability as a mechanic but like skeeter suggested this should be a warrantee issue.
Play it safe. Don't wanna give them an excuse to void the warrantee.

Its the fitting on the end of the clutch fluid hose that is connected to the slave cylinder. Its like a brake line hose on disc brakes.

Lookie here

The bolt passes thru the hole in the banjo fitting with a soft metal washer top and bottom.
the bolt is hollow with holes in the side and end that allow fluid from the hose to pass thru into the housing that it is bolted to.
