With only 7,000 miles and an 03, would you want to ride a scooter with original tires? Would that be safe?

I rode my Nomad on original tires for 11,000 miles. Sooner or later you'll have to replace them.

It would be a serious issue with dry rot in this area with tires that old. A couple of 2003 specialty vehicles at work had less mileage and the tires were completely gone. Why take the chance, I would just go ahead and change them. Better to be safe than sorry.

Just check the side walls for dry rot real good. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

I would check the tires real close for dry rot. You know, cracking or splitting on the sidewalls. If it is an issue I wouldn't let that stop me from buying the bike if it was in good shape otherwise.
If the tires need to be replaced you should be able to talk the seller down in price accordingly http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Jack How did you get 11,000 on a rear...?
This on hasn't got 10,000. and look at it....

And this goes for the 03 with 7,000... Might not look like this junk stone, but it must be getting close.

Get rid of these OEM junk stones.. You can get better stones, or you can get other brands of MC tires, or you can do what I did.
