I'm the new guy and I want to come out to play.

I've got more than a few questions but will start with just this one first.

Anyone know when the new 2009 models come out. I'm in the Central Ohio area and my local dealer (2 miles) has a stunning 2008' at $10,499 . My wife likes the bike but I'm thinking the price might drop a little more after the 09's come out and I might be able to get a better deal on an 08' bike. Or maybe wait until winter and try for a 2009.

I'm ready to buy...but have not pulled the trigger.

More later ... :-/

Welcome to the Nomad Nation from the Grand Canyon State!

I was shopping for my Nomad about a year ago, and bought an '07 on September 30. The 08's weren't out yet. I'd say more like Nov/Dec before they hit the showroom floors.

Welcome aboard!

If you don't already have a bike; I say go ahead and "love the one you are with" and buy it now; while you still have some riding time in the season -- depending where you live. I would agree with Radco and see if you can't bargain for a few other "add-ons" while you are at it though.

Otherwise; buy it; be done with it; and ride it. As you said; you wanted to come out and play... so get on with it.

Welcome to the board kelhender, Consider this, every day you wait costs you in lost riding potential. Hard to put a price on that but there are folks here that would put it at more than a few bucks a day. I wouldn't expect a large drop in that price on the '08, if any, especially below the figure that Radco gives

Yea depends on the dealer,,MY Local dealer adds about 500$ OVER retail..... BUT if they are willing to deal.the addons cost them less and comes out better for you http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif,, ALSO a BIG MARKUP is the EXTENDED WARRENTY.. THEY OVER Charge for it BIG time,,E bay is about 400$,,TRY and get them to throw it in,or get a MATCH to that as part of the deal... YOUR MONEY,THEY WANT it,The bike cost them interest every day it sits there,,,If you do not have a bike now, like said you loose ride time by not buying now....BUT may get a better deal in cold weather,ALL depends on what you want.....MORE 2 cents from me lol..GOOD luck,,,,,,,Rich

I'd check around and see if you can get another dealer to bargin with and play them against each other and see what happens. I don't look for there to be much of a change between the 08 and 09 except maybe for the price or color change. Riding times a wasting in your area though.

I think that is a really good price on a 2008. I paid alittle less for an new 07 in April 08 but Kaw was offering rebates on last years models. Like Ells said, dont miss out on riding for a few bucks here or there. If you like it, pull that trigger before its gone and someone else is smiling on your bike.

Welcome from Peoria, IL. I bought my 2007 when the 2008s came out last year. I believe they came out either late August or September.

Welcome to the board from North Dakota! My opinion is for you to buy the 08 Nomad now. I bought my 08 in May, and I'm loving every mile I put on it. I'm not familiar with what the weather is like in Ohio, but here in ND we get seven months of riding weather if we're very lucky. I've got 4500 miles on my Nomad, and I ride every chance I get. I'd be too impatient to wait for an 09 if I was you. Good luck!

That's a good price. I bought mine in October when the next model year came out. If you wait, they may run out of the leftover model year since there is a limited amount made. I'd say go for it and RIDE!

Welcome to the forum. That is a great price for the `08. I would find it difficult to pass up. Somebody's going to scoop it up. Good luck...

Paid over 13K for mine (07). I didn't quibble a bit and I've been riding it t for almost 14 months ( yes, year round) and don't regret a penny. It was within my budget and the financing was fantabulous. My dealer gave me a good trade in value on what I had and after I made the deal he threw in the extended waranty at no charge. It's true I checked it out. Guess he wanted to feel better about it.
I had the options to wait another year, buy a used bike (of which there are some good deals), or ride my dream now. I wasn't in a hurry, the bike I was on was paid for and a good bike. Who knows what tomorrow may bring. Don't lose a minute.

Happy Dayz klhender, welcome aboard!
my advice for what it is worth (not much was that???) I recon you should go for it, its about the "now" and the ride!. You didnt say if you have a current charger? or if your new to bikes. Trades can make a difference. ;)

Thanks Guys - It seems like people can post darn near anything here about almost anybike within reason. I really like that ..
I made contact with a second dealer today to get another dealer quote. I had planned to hold on until later this fall but I feel like I'm on track and have made a good decision so we'll see what happens after I hear back from these guys. I also have a 3rd dealership in the general area and I'll talk to these guys also before I drop one and work on the other two. I guess it won't hurt to question a couple of dealers to see what's what. I do try to be a good customer and not waste the time of a salesperson if I am not buying from that location.

I doubt there would be much difference technically between 08 & 09. So go 08!
