Who Plans on Attending the Finger Lakes Rally? [Archive]

I'll need to get a handle on this so I can block rooms. As of right now it appears to be around the 3rd weekend in June 18-21 to accomodate the school employees as well.

I plan on attending. My daughter graduates from UCLA that month, so that may take precedence. I think graduation is 1st or 2nd week of June, so unless there is a conflict I will be at the Finger Lakes Rally. Just me, not my wife.

Having come to my Nomad off an 06 Connie, I cannot imagine a Concours being behind the Nomads whether on straight roads or twisties. Rolling on the throttle was like riding a bolt of lightening. Then you get up to 6500 rpm and it jumps into hyper-space. teh original Connies were something special. Loved that bike, but wouldn't trade my Nomad for it.

I'm sorry 1stgear. I communicate with people here and on volusiariders throughout the year and consider them people I can trust and can have a good time with. I don't know any of the people on VROC or strangers in Laconia. I don't understand why those people have their rallies at that time as well. I for one would never go to a large rally with a bike. I would rather be walking with a beer in my hand checking out all the eye candy. I'm not a member of New England VROC but notice that our local VROC's ground zero is a diner about 3 miles from my house. I can't belong to everything and be everywhere. Evidently with all that's going on that week shows it's a popular week. You can make part of Laconia and still make the rally. As far as Father's Day goes you should be home in time for dinner that Sunday night.

Im going to the national rally in Custer, depending on how the timing is on the way back from there, I will try to make it at least for Sunday unless thats to late. A Saturday arrival time would be really pushing it.

I'd like to try and come, I only live a couple hours away, can I just come for the weekend or do I need to be their the hole time. I’m taken two weeks in the summer for a cross country trip with a friend so I don’t have any more vacation time, this would also be a good trip to check out all the new gear before my big trip. I could maybe show up on Friday night maybe even bring the wife.
one day or 10 days doesnt matter,, its just a casual get together,, I may only be there Sat. and leave Sunday!.. Still not 100% sure I can get all the time off.. I wont be back to work for at least a month to set up my Vacation sch.

Yes SWB, the Finger Lakes Rally is at the same time as the National.
There is no way I can ride 1750 miles one way,then ride for two or three days at the rally, then ride 1750 miles back home. I would love to be there but thats to much seat time for me.
If the National is closer to the east coast in 2010 I will be there.

Thanks for the teacher consideration, but one other consideration I had to account for was my fishing week at Lake Erie I do with family the week after school is out.

I am considering making the trip if only for one night. My plans like this are usually last minute type of things so I'll confirm as we get closer. It looks like it would be a GREAT ride and this with the first year on the Nomad I plan on making up for lost time on a MC. This would be the perfect trip for me at the right time.

It is on my calendar! I'll know better after spring break in April then find out where to make reservations and get an idea of my travel time and all. Yeah, I can do this! See 'ya!

The wife and I decided to join in your festive Gayla. ::) We will be joining you guys and gals at the Finger Lakes this year.

I have just reserved a room for the wife and I for the 18th to the 21st.

Rich, The wife and I are riding to Conn. for the weekend of June 12, 13, and 14. We will be pulling out and heading to Maine just to be able to say we road there (bragging rights, you know). We even thought about stopping in on Lanconia for a minute. This could be done either on the way to Maine or the way out. I don't' know when you will be pulling out and heading for your buddies in NY. Maybe we could catch up somewhere on the way. I also thought that if we had time that week about maybe heading to Niagara for a night before that weekend.
I was planning on leaving the 16th to head to Rochester,,,Maybe the 15th.. I was probly going to lay over in Ma. on the way.. depending how the leg feels..Where in Ct are you guys going? When you hitting Maine? Laconia isnt what it used to be,, and IMO 1 day is enough.. Cool to do it,, but less venders each year... If you do Laconia we may be able to hook up in NH or Ma...
