Trunk is painted Vivid black with chrome hardware. Feels solid but will probably put a thin bit of metal along the inside hinge bolts for extra support.
All sitting quite snug on a Wompus rack... Onya Mike

Since mid Feb I have installed black saddlebag rails, Grasshopper backrest, dual usb with voltage readout in right side fairing, dual usb velcroed to inner left fairing, replaced aux lights switch with ciggy power socket, moved aux light switch to left switch block, installed garage opener to right switch block, plug and play led front light (3 sided), Avon grips, Klockwerks 9" dark smoke screen and added a saddleman tour pak organiser and light to the trunk.
Oh, also my lady got me personalized plates too...VAQUERO. Couldn't believe no one else had taken that plate name :tup::tup:
Cheers, Pete.

Waterproof aluminium housing with rubber boot switch. Fitted in gap nicely. Used original bolt with rubber tubing as switchblock hole is recessed.
Rocker switch I ain't too crazy about because not waterproof. I will replace it with a latching push on/off switch with led when I can find a suitable one.

Both these switch types are easy to find...but with a suitable mounting bracket on the back was a PIA ! :D

I think what you have done is FANTASTIC. Something I discovered with My garage door opener is during rain, you only can get so wet then it just runs into my boots. The volume of water in my boots with the Door opener and not a door opener is actually about the same:lmao:

My garage door opener is tucked away nice & dry in my fairing - small piece of wire soldered across the clicker - and powered off the high-beam circuit.

A flash of my headlight on the way down my driveway & up or down she goes.

Here's a link to one of the many online tutorials (http://www.adrielhenderson.com/blog/2013/8/28/motorcycle-garage-door-remote) that can be found for that modification online.

Yep the great salt flats. I ran it up to 110 mph. I didn’t want to go any faster than that. Why tempt fate.
