There will be an election for the NorthCentral members to decide who will be the RL: Ponch or Abbo
Which ever one is elected, the other will serve as ARL

There will be an election for the SouthCentral members to decide who will be the RL: Oldbikers or Nightmare
JussMatt is the new ARL for the SouthCentral Region

There is noone slated to be RL or ARL for the NorthWest or NorthEast Regions at this time. If someone is interested in becoming the RL or ARL for these regions, let me know.

OK, let's start over with the RL and ARL nominations. I feel that things probably got off on the wrong foot in the original thread. So, I started this thread so that this process can be completed fairly and accurately.

If you would like a chance to serve as an RL or an ARL, please let me know in this thread by Saturday, July 12th. I will be glad to answer any questions or talk to you about it by way of PM, if you prefer. I would like to see every slot for all six regions filled with possible candidates to vote on. Remember, each year in July, we will be holding elections for new RL's and ARL's.

I consider this serious business and so does the staff.

75% of you wanted the KawaNOW regions in the USA to be split into 6 regions with 6 riding groups.

This means we need to vote on 6 Region Leaders (or RL's). Please leave a post here and let me know if you are interested in becoming a leader for your region. If you would like to be considered for Assistant Regional Leader (or ARL) feel free to leave a post in this thread and I will add you to the nomination list.

Nominations for RL and ARL will last until Saturday, July 12th.
Elections for the RL's will take place between Sunday, July 13 and Friday, July 18th.
ARL's will be decided upon by the KawaNOW staff

Here are the responsibilties and duties of an RL:

If you are interested in possibly becoming a Regional Leader or Assistant Regional Leader, let me know with a post in this thread and I will add you to the nomination list. You have until Saturday, July 12th at 6pm, CDT to get your nominations in.

On Sunday, July 13, I will make a thread for each region to vote in. You will not vote by a poll, but rather by leaving a post in your regional thread and letting it be known who you vote for. That way, members in other regions won't be able to vote outside their region. The final RL voting will commence July 13th and last until Friday, July 18th at 6pm, CDT. In case of a tie, the final decision will be up to the KawaNOW staff.

If only one person is left on the list in a given region, then there will be no voting in that region. The sole person on the list will be made the RL.

During the voting time by the members, a list of ARL's will be given to the KawaNOW staff and they will decide who will be the ARL for each region.

The role of Region Leader will last for one year. Each July, we will hold elections for a new RL and ARL.

I plan on offering a rally next summer. It will most likely be during late August 2009. I would have planned it this year, but my calendar is full for this year. Besides, CaddmanQ has the Sequoia Ride planned sometime later this summer for everyone.

So this will happen in August of 2009 (late August). I hope to enlist the help of Redeye for this event. He hasn’t been asked yet, but I sure would appreciate having his talents and input.

The rally will take place in the Northern California Sierra Mountains, mostly around 5,000 to 7,000-foot elevation. Since it’s away off in time yet, I’ll provide more information about it all as we move through the seasons.

This would have to happen August 15th through 17th. That's arrive Friday at the cabin for a night of visiting around the campfire. Maybe a BBQ is in order. Saturday ride through some mountain gold towns, several lakes, rivers, with a lunch stop. Back to the cabins Saturday night with a dinner out to the best Mexican Food in California just two-miles away, and then head out Sunday with a ride through Truckee and around Lake Tahoe on toward home.

There are six cabins here. One is a two-bedroom and could serve as the main house for an indoor get together (if needed). That rents for $125. Some cabins have one bed and are $59. The rest have an extra single bed and go for $69 a day. There is plenty of room for those wanting to pitch a tent as well. I envision staying two nights. With a good day ride in between. I'd say we just rent the whole place and split the cost evenly with whoever makes the run.

If you're interested, let's get you, Redeye and myself together and make it happen. It's beautiful country, good roads for riding, and a comfortable, inexpensive place to stay.

This is the only weekend I have open. September I'm off to China for the month.....

Normally I'd say yes but she had to change classrooms this year and I'm pretty sure I've got to take the trailer and go help her set everything up that weekend. There's a possiblilty we could get the class room set up earlier if we can get into the school early, and the janitors arent waxing floors, and shampooing carpets, and painting stuff.
