Just curious. I know helmets are a personal choice, but just curious what eveyone is wearing. This is not intended to be a judgement, which is why I put the option of no helmet in there.

We all know style is a personal choice, so share yours

I checked 1/2 helmet, because I wear one of those (I own 3) during the warmer months. The other 2 months of the year, I wear a 3/4 helmet. I don't care for full-face helmets, personally. Occasionally, I go topless, no helmet at all.

I'm really glad you clarified that. I was about to have a very ugly visual. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Where half helmet all year long, but have a modular ( easier dealing with glasses) to wear if needed.

I know I should ride with a helmet for safety but when I taking day ride and I know the weather is not questionable I don't wear one.

I have a half helmet I like if the same applies and I'm going into MA where helmets are required.

If I'm going on an overnighter a have a full right now if weather is questionable, but I'm going to pick up a 3/4 helmet that will take a flip up shield for those circumstances because I feel my full helmet doesn't give enough peripheral.

I hate to say it, but at 70+mph, I get really beat up with a helmet. I know, enlarge my lowers, a helmet makes me nausus about about 40 miles because of the jiggle.

I have 3 half helmets, one, I wear most of the time, another with the neck warmer for cool days, and another that matches the wife's. When it gets COLD, (below 37-40) I have a modular that I wear. (compared to the halves, the modular is HEAVY) http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

Yes, the large lowers make all the difference. Thats what I have on my Nomad. My wife doesn't have large lowers on her Nomad, (OEM) but she has spotlights. She says she doesn't get any head buffeting. The spotlights must help control air flow. ???

I wear a half helmet almost always and a full in the colder weather. I would like the choice not to wear one at all. Especially when its 94 outside like today.

I wear a half for around town and shorter jaunts, a 3/4 for long highway runs (easier to hear my tunes as my ear buds transfer wind noise when wearing the half), and a full flip-up modular for when it's cold.

I have a modular, used to have a full face. I feel naked with anything less.

1/2 Helmet. I feel I can see or hear better with it and I want to protect my head with something.

Very seldom wear one around the county, but if I'm going off a pretty good distance I put one on. I carry a 1/2 helmet in my saddlebag always. But sure was glad I had it on when I got hit by a car ( the car ran a stop sign) on Hwy 61 north of Vicksburg a few years back, If it wasn't for the helmet what little brains I got would have been spread along the cotton fields.

I wear a dot 1/2. I used to wear a little chrome novelty but the snap broke and I found a nice leather german that was only a tiny bit bigger, so I got it. I have a 3/4 and for some reason I just dont like to wear it. When It is colder, I use a full face.

I know that it is the smart thing to wear a helmet. But I think it should 100% be the choice of the operator. I think it is rediculous that the Government feels it is their responsibility to "protect us from ourselves" Why step in on every little thing?
My reasoning, faulty or not, I'd rather die than be a vegetable.

One of my buds lives in Lancaster I go up there all the time and really enjoy not wearing the helmet.

Like most on here, I have more than one. I usually end up with the 1/2. I feel more comfortable in it. I've got a full w/ a flip face. It's a great helmet, just a little hot for my area. I also have been known to go lidless. I know...not the smartest thing...but I've never claimed to be the smartest either!!!

I wear a 1/2 helmet 95 percent of the time. I have a full face for when the temps go into the 20's and 30's. Once in a blue moon I will go without but it is usually in NH traffic (Laconia bike week or a trip to Hampton Beach) I just sweat too much.

I must have a tough neck or something, because I took my lowers off completely and I'm not bothered by buffeting. Or maybe because I rode for 34 years with no windshield at all, I just don't appreciate what's going on.

In any event, I've not felt the need for bigger lowers.

wear the helmet. I've been down and from the look of the face shield, it's a good thing I was wearing it. Half for short jaunts and full for longer or iffy weather. Hot or cold I haven't a problem with the full it's that after 400 or so miles I get uncomfortable. I wear shades that slip over my prescriptions and the pressure around the ears gets to me after some time. Cooling is not a problem if my hair is short. Vents in the helmet are great and my ears don't get burnt in the summer. I made fun of others on our last trip who didn't wear helmets as we rode thru some pretty hard rain squalls.

I generally choose no helmet, although when I do wear one, it is a very high end (and comfy) full face. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for in a helmet. Many are inexpensive and will save your squash but I have yet to find a cheap bucket that is comfortable on extended rides.

i wear the German Chrome Dome half helmet you see in the pic most of the time, with a face scarf.... but lately I've been gravitating towards, and getting more comfortable wearing my Nolan 100 Modular..... sure is quieter (and no doubt safer!!)

I wear a half most of the time but am thinking of switching to a 3/4 due to the wind noise on the nomad......No helmet is not an option for us canadians but would love to ride without one just once to feel what that would be like.....
