Does anyone know where we can obtain the rubber support grommets under our hard bags that would fit the bags tighter? Mine are loose and the bags move around too much for my liking.

Go to gadget's page and I think you can go to a Home Depot or any other hardware type store and get a rubber seal for a toilet or something like that that will work.

Not sure when. The client, whom I'm contracted with, just fired the architect AND the General Contractor so all schedules have been put on hold on that job. I'm sure I'll get there, as they still want to be finished before Christmas, just not sure when. I'll definitely keep you posted so we can arrange to meet up.

Should be. Just haven't got a signed contract yet. I may do a "vision casting" meeting ahead of the contract anyway. We'll see.
I will definitely be in Houston the first week of November for a trade show, but not sure how slammed I'll be yet. I'll keep ya posted bro.

No project was ever completed on time, within budget, nor with the same staff that started it. Yours will not be the first.

Tell me about it!
At my age, believe me...this is not my first rodeo. Buy these jobs make for some great stories to be sure! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

The other one I love to quote is: "If a project is allowed to change freely, the rate of change will exceed the rate of progress."

<edit.....some day I will remember how to spell the word "exceed"....>

Voyager, I would suggest getting some "weather strip adhesive". I took mine out, applied the adhesive, then (quickly) reassemble everything including the bag, and let it sit for a while. The bags don't rattle around, and you don't have to worry about losing the donut, and I would go to Kawi and get the replacement donut.

The problem is that the plastic bags actually shrink with age, and then the stock rubber gaskets are no longer thick enough. Plus there are a lot of pieces in the assembly of stuff between the actual bike frame & the bottom of the bag & there is a little tolerance in each part. The bottom line is that the alignment is less than perfect from the factory and gets worse with age.

The stock gaskets can be shimmed up with rubber washers. I made some from an inner tube. Then things shrank more & I used some big rubber o-rings for a while. Now I use the 1 1/4" Mack "basin gaskets" from the hardware store, which are about 1/16" thicker than the Kawi rubbers and stop all the rattling. (Mack is a brand of pattented sink plumbing.) They were $1.36 ea.
