I watched a neat video on punching holes in the baffle plates to debaffle a Vulcan 1700 Classic exhaust, has anyone tried this technique on a Vaquero? Does the Vaquero have 3 baffle plates like the Classic?

Here's the video https://youtu.be/6aieGbHLRXw

After searching the forums I've found the answer I was looking for. I think I'll just drill out the mid and rear baffles in each muffler.

This is the same technique recommended for the stock exhaust on the Shadow 750ACE (and any other Shadow with the big bazooka exhaust can)

It does the job, though the sound quality is not as good as what can be obtained via an aftermarket exhaust from my personal experience.

That method has been around forever, it does work but the sound is still not a good as a set of aftermarket pipes.

The sound will be a little better depending on the size of the rod. But the main thing is the bike will run cooler. Especially if you punch all the way thru the catalyst substance.
