Ok, now that all the rallies are in the books, what were the official Nomad counts for each, total number of bikes and total number of people at each. My wife and I were discussing it tonight and were wondering.
I think the east rally had like 1,000 Nomad, 1500 total bikes and 2500 people...or so it seemed. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif All I know is I had a great time and just wish we didn't have to come back so soon.

hey Ron we may be coming down in august to vero. I know you'll be doing the teaching thing, but we thought we might de-tour your way if we can get at least 4 days off. I'll send you a pm as we firm up a date later in july. I think we had at least 30 bikes on saturday, ????
ride safe.

Hey David, that would be cool. We can ride over that way if the dates are good or we could meet half-way.
I guess the other rallies aren't up to posting their numbers.

We just didn't want to make everyone else jealous.

Where were all the bikes and riders in Elkins W.Va.? When I arrived at the Super 8 Motel I counted only 25 bikes. We found out there were gonna be 2 different rides on Saturday morning. A long one to Seance Rock, Backwater Falls and north and a shorter one over to the Kawasaki shop in Buckhannon. After getting into the shorter ride to Buckhannon at the tail I noticed that ride had it's first stop at the first gas station. After lumbering around the Super 8 for about an hour and a half you would have thought everyone would have had a full tank. Seeing how the first gas station was only a half mile down the road. We went to Elikns to ride bikes with other Nomad owners. Maybe later on in the fall when the leaves are turning I'll put a nice ride together and post it for all.
AFAICR we had 17 Nomads, two Hondas, and a Harley on the Western rally.
One of the Hondas stayed in the lot because the owner (Redeye's wife Anita) was driving our crash truck.
I think total participants was 25 or 26, depending on whether I count Redeye's granddaughter Samantha, who rode pillion with him.

I did not do a final count. Maybe Todd or Amy did? We did have about 30 nomads at the picnic sat and some goldwings.
As far as the comment about stopping for gas. Yes we stopped for gas...one person who got in late friday night and was tired and resting up did not get a chance to get out and get gas before our ride and was on empty. Sorry that bothered you so much that you decided not to ride with us.

Well, there were actually 3 rides...the ones you mentioned, and a group went with a ride led by Lloyd (ole dawg). We had 30 nomads of which your 2 were counted...and the ones that showed up from the WV VROC....40 or 41 bikes total...I think I remember 4 Goldwings at one point. While you were there, some had gone for breakfast also.
As anyone who has tried to organize rides before knows...you just never have everyone on the exact same page.....I for one think it is great that the whole group stopped to let one gas up and wait for him...and it was an opportunity for all to top off if they wanted. Yeah, I am not much for standing around waiting to ride either, and as neither is my wife (she's even worse than me http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif ) but we accepted the fact that we were with a huge group and went along with the flow, besides, hanging out talking with everyone was half of the reason for the rally, along with riding. I think that was even more part of the process of getting to know everyone better.
I certainly enjoyed my time talking with you in the parking lot Saturday morning and learning about the bike and bikes you had constructed.....loved the sidecar you built that was all in parts when you got it too.....and I WISH I had gotten a pic of your grandson as the youngest KawaNOW member.
I also waived at you a couple times as you went by the city park in the afternoon to try to get you to stop by and have a burger and visit some more with us....wish you would have, not sure why you didn't.....you could have hung out and gotten to know some more of the people that were not around still earlier in the morning. We also had the Nomads all parked and lined up along the edge of the park (except for a couple that went back to the hotel to rest up).
So they were there, wish you were able to hang out a little longer around the group. Maybe next time.

Ok, I must admit, I was one of the ones you were waiting on. We had a devil of a time finding a laundramat, then had to wait for the squirrels to run fast enough to get the dryers working properly. I was the one that notahd1500 saw at the laundramat in my shorts, riding boots and t-shirt and directed him to the Super 8.

Too Funny! If had Tennessee Volunteer squirrels your clothes would have been dry in no time!

I'm really glad you folks had a good time. We did at the Western Rally.
Let's just be blunt about the detractor: Anal, Attitude, Bummer Dude (as we say in SoCal). I guess he didn't realize that us folks wanted to get know each other. The rallys were an excellent opportunity for that and I enjoyed it as I think you all did.
Ball Buster? Maybe he is. Don't appologize to that guy. Let him keep on looking for someplace where everybody does what he wants them to do.

Actually, I will say this about notahd1500 and his wife, they are good people. My wife and I talked to them at DQ on Saturday night. A true motorcycle enthusiast and quite a wrench from what I gathered. I think he was just making a statement is all, his opinion. I say no harm, no foul.

You gotta admit Coach, from my seat that looked like it was a rather unusual posting for a first post?

To say the least!
It takes some folks a while to get in the swing of things. On the other hand, some look at the internet as the perfect place to vent. Been there, done that, got over it (more or less ;) )
So things didn't go perfect. They didn't go perfect on our ride either. sh*t Happens. It gives us an excuse to get better, hey?

I wasn't mad that the group had stopped for gas, it's just I thought everyone was ready to ride. I noticed that the group for the long ride just kept going. After standing around talking to people I saw riders leave and then back in just a few like they went down the street to fill up. I kinda figured that everyone was ready to ride and had all ready filled up. Sorry, my fault. All in all I think it's wonderful that someone put the whole deal together. What I would like to see is more gatherings like that one. As I said in the last and my 1st post I'm gonna work on a fall trip up in the hills for a leaf ride when they start to color up and fall. We do one each year in the panhandle that last about 6 hours, but I would like to do one that would last the whole weekend and no less then a few hundred miles.

Hey that's cool notahd1500. As has been said on this and other threads this was our first rallies and hopefully using as a learning experience. Definately my first time to be a co-leader of orgainizing. Sure sorry ya'll didn't get to stop by the picknic to visit - as Todd said maybe next time. Ride safe.

The picnic in the park was something that we might like to do another time. Having a 2 year old grandson present he doesn't understand. One thing that he does understand is swings, sliding boards and climbing stuff. When we are out riding and come up on a park we like to stop and let him have a little time. It's kinda different watching the little ones having fun. We used to go from bar to bar and watch the drunks, now with the little guy we go from park to park and let him have a little fun.
