I read alot of posts about removing the Cap for the Oil Fill/Differental Fill being a PIA.. It is.
While changing my Rear Differental oil I found a LARGE washer fit the concave slot.. instal a screwdrive in the hole and unscrewed it,,SO wanting a better/easier way to get BETTER torque on removing it AND a way to TORQUE it I got a OLD SOCKET.. cut a Slot into it to Fit a Large Steel washer,,, was going to Tack it in,, but didnt need to. a 3/8" ratchet fit and so does my torque wrench http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif TOOK 1 minute to cut the slot.. we have a AIR cut off tool at the shop http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I laid a flat screwdriver tip sideways.
I started to do that but then I saw the washer,,and figured I would ding up the cap w/the screw driver LOL....

I did not have the right size washer on hand, so I grabbed a round spark plug gap measuring tool. I also use the same tool for the differential oil plug.

Kawi makes a nice tool for taking those off. I've had one for years, but right before the rally I couldn't find it. I had it last time I changed the oil, but not now for some reason.

I was scrambling to improvise. The kawi tool fits perfect of course, and give you plenty of leverage.

I've got a 90degree flathead screw driver. Works just fine for me.

I use a flat stamped steel wrench that came with my Craftsman router.
It is rounded on the sides and has a 5" handle, works great.

My cap is really dinged/gouged up. Previous owners really had fun with it. http://s2.images.proboards.com/angry.gif:(" title=">:(" border="0"/> I should look around for a better cap I guess.

The wrench that came with one of my circular saws is the exact thickness of the slot---works perfectly.
