I added the Kuryakyn Run-brake kit this weekend and no one posted pics yet so I thought I let everyone know what they look like--I really like the look.

I like it. I'm going to put that on the list right after seat and throttle lock.

Good job

Did the same mod last winter. Does change the whole rear look.

Now I'm trying to figure out if I want to add more lights off the sissy bar bolts.

The lenses are red, come with really nice reflectors inside ( a lot brighter than stock), and when you're running, all the lights are lit. When you use the brakes, all three lights quickly blink 4 times and then stay on. If you have a turn signal going, the one light indicates a turn, and the other two are brake/running lights lights. You don't have to change to a double filament bulb. The retail on these guys is $99, but I think the safety factor is well worth it.

Good points .... all. I think you have convinced me, sir.

Thanks.

Caddman11, I think you sold another set to me. I like that flash feature. Light improvement is important to me. My last bike wreck involved a car running over the back of me. Thanks Caddman11 for the info.

Geezz, I wish I could make a buck on this. I added running/brake turns on my last bike, but I had to rewired front turn signals on the rear because I had to have double filament bulbs, this is so much easier and in the end costs about the same. Enjoy guys, if you have any problems with the install, and I'm pretty sure you won't, drop me a line and I'll see if I can help---if you would like a pic from under the seat, I could post one of those too. I used a wire tie to fasten the load eq to a post on the right side of the battery opposite the plugs. David

I am this close (imagine things 'this close') to ordering these. I believe if you put a picture from under the seat, even I would be able to install them... (then I'd no choice but to get them).

If Caddman11 were to include part numbers and links we would be even more appreciative. In fact, I would buy dinner if he would drop in to Fort Worth hook it up right quick for me.

Well Bill, I live a long way but my daughter lives in Arlington, so I may take you up on that dinner. J&P is not the cheapest by $10 or so, but you get quick service and good tech support if needed.

I'm sold, right after the seat, etc. Truck-butt is a hard thing to forget!

Hello. Did you order yours from J&P because (as soon as they took my money) they said there were not in stock... so if your order was filled you may have the last ones for a while. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

When I ordered it, thought it said they did not have them in their stock, but they would be delivered to me in a week to 10 days. Probably drop ship from their supplier.

I thought that would give Caddman11 time to get out here to Arlington, TX to see his daughter and drop by to install mine. :) :) :) :)

Any tips or things to watch out for?

Any tips or things to watch out for?

Easy. You get 4 items. Two lenses to replace your amber ones. You have to reuse your rubber seal and threads for the screw. Then you get a control module. You have to remove your seats. Look for the plug in connector whose wires run back to the fender. On mine the connector was on top of the battery and the closest to the rear fender.

I made sure it was the correct connector by turning on the lights after I unplugged it. Anyway unplug that connector and plug the module in line. The plugs will match perfectly. Then plug in the equilizer to either of the remaining two plug ins on the module. Easy.

You can PM or call me Sciono, 8176806001, if you have any questions.

I told you guys this is an easy one, almost too easy.

scion0
07-13-2008, 12:36 PM
It was so easy... although I noticed the equilizer didn't seem to change anything when I used either plug... it may have slowed the blinks a bit but not too much, so I left them off. Wasn't sure it will make a difference or not left off. I guess we will see.

Thanks guys for the fast responses.

Now that the lights are in... I think I will go for a louder horn (had a person pull out in front of me yesterday after looking me directly in the eye) and my little toot didn't seem to impress him. After the horn some inexpensive, read not aftermarket light bar, lights for the front.
