Just fitted LED bulbs to front and back turn signals. They are direct replacements for the stock bulbs, same base fitting, but a cluster of LED's. I was not sure how the lighting would be effected, but soon found out. The result was that when the handlebar switch was operated, all four turn signals flashed at the same time, fast, including the instrument panel indicator. I fitted a resistor pack to each bulb on the rear and hid them under the plastic cover under the rear fender where the wiring joins the harness. Now the turn signals work fine, including the instument panel indicator, but they flash a little faster that the stock. The self cancelling feature also continues to work fine. I could fit the resistor packs to the front turn signals which would slow down the flash rate to the standard, but I actually prefer the slightly quicker flash rate as it seems to be more visible. The resistor pack gets slightly warm, but not hot and therefore not a problem. If the same resistor pack were fitted to a bulb which was lit continuously then the resistor pack would get quite hot and care would be needed as to where it was located. Thought I would pass this info on in case anyone was planning to do the same, 1600 Nomad.
