I just picked up a 2014 vaquero friday. Love the bike with the exception of the kqr backrest. Stock seat. Wife is complaining about sliding forward on the seat every time we hit a bump. Seems to me that the backrest if too far back. Doesn't seem to be adjustable. I've been looking at the corbin seat with the passenger backrest and possibly one for me too. Has anyone successfully modified the kqr to make it be more forward and maybe a little more upright? And I would appreciate opinions on the corbin set up from people who ride with a passenger frequently.

Thanks

Welcome from Northern California!
I hope you get the seat/backrest figured out soon.
Have the ECU re-flashed by Ivan and your wife will be complaining about sliding off the back when you take off. :lmao:

The Corbin saddle is my choice. My wife got fed up with the stock seat real fast. The bolts sticking up into the cushion was dumb on the manufactures part. My wife and I are real happy with the Corbin saddle.

Where are you located.

There is a Corbin manufacture in Hollister, Ca. and one in Florida I think. You can make an appointment, ride in and they will make the saddle while you wait. You can take it for a test ride and they will make any adjustments you want all for one price. They will also do a modification later no charge as long as the cover is not replaced.

thunder makes an extension kit to raise it 4 1/2 in. that may help because it will be more on the back than lower back just a thought, available in black or chrome. I have a set love love's it

In the interim use a piece of grippy stuff for tables on the seat so she doesn't slide. Yes, I know it looks ghetto...

Thanks for all the replies guys. Think I'm going to hold off on the re-flash for now. Ordered the 7" brackets from thunder. Going to try that first. Then look at seats. Wife and I went for a ride this evening for about an hour. She seems to think that the higher back rest will be a step in the right direction. I'm also interested in finding some passenger foot peg relocation brackets to raise the pegs. She is a little short and I'm afraid that if we go with a thicker seat she won't be able to reach them. I would also appreciate suggestions for those as well. Other than trying to make it a little more comfortable for the wife I really like this bike.

I have the Corbin dual tour seat with the KQR backrest raised in the upper position of two and they work well together The stock seat sucks as mentioned for two up riding. I had complaints from my girlfriend about that stock pillion and now she loves the Corbin.
