View Full Version : finally a pic
Ok, so I know it's not a great pic, but this was the day I picked up the bike. I will work on some cleaner, clearer, closer shots soon.
Hopefully you can see it in the sig now.

Its so ugly only a mother could love it. ;)
Thanks,
As for the extras that are already on the bike, supposedly it has about 95% of the extras that Kawasaki offers for the bike. I checked the website and that is pretty true.
quick list includes:
Saddle bag chrome (top & bottom)
Front Fender chrome
Front Light bar
Rear luggage rack
Tank Bib w/ removable pouch
windshield bag
Front fork bags (took it off---seems to run cooler)
Just about every chrome bolt cover I can see.
V&H Dual Baggers & PCIII
Custom air cleaner cover (JD, ole' #7)
I did take the fringe off---just not my style.
I guess it's good & bad that it's got so many accessories....good that I dont' have to pay, bad that I dont' get to add them personally.
So far only the pipes really bug me--the V&H pipes. Everyone says it has a nice rumble, but I wish it were quieter. The second part is trying to find oil for it. I've decided to put Mobil1 Vtwin 20w50, but according to Mobil 1, there is not a store within 100 miles to purchase it. The usual suspects don't have it. Also, where are you guys getting the oil filters? Only one I have seen is a Wix at OReily, which is a good filter, but it is $11. That's more than my Mobil 1 truck filters
Thanks

That's a really sharp Nomad. The chrome really sets off the black paint. Enjoy!
The chrome really sets off the black paint.
Don't you mean " The chrome really helps hide..." Just kidding, it's a Blue and Silver thing. Yes, it is a great looking bike, very nice - and we are not biased or anything here either.
Sounds like another potential buyer for used stock pipes, I hear they show up on E-Bay for cheap but shipping is expensive.

Very Sharp Nad ;). You might take the baffles out and check to see if the packing is on them. I love the sound of my V&H Baggers, and don't think they are overly loud. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
Thanks to all for the compliments. I wasn't trying to fish, just excited to share.
As for the blue & silver thing.......well I guess anyone could take the easy way out and go with the wicked two-tone paint scheme to turn heads.......real men wear black..........can I say that here?
Just kidding---thought I'd give a little back. So far from what I've seen, I haven't seen a bad Nad here

You can quiet down the V&H pipes if you choose, by installing longer baffles. There is an article on Gadgets page that explains how to do this. I don't find stock V&H pipes that loud, check the packing first before you do anything else.

Hi tkd.
In response to your question, "Also, where are you guys getting the oil filters? " try your local WalMart. Look for their Super Tech ST7317. I think it's only about $3.
Check out this thread about oil and filters:

With V&H you have all sorts of options.. Longer baffels, sheet metal wrap from common roofing flashing, glass pack wrap, combinations of both, untill you get the sound you like.
Nice bike, to bad you didn't get the green and silver because those are the fastest...
