I'm looking to improve wind flow coming over the top of my 1700 Nomad windscreen. I'm experiencing more buffeting than I expected no matter what height I set the screen at. I'm a little surprised after reading reviews saying there is none. Lowers have always improved this with other bikes I've owned but the stock lowers that come on the Nomads are pretty tiny. Have any of you who have added Chucksters Large lowers noticed an improvement in the air flow coming over the top of your windscreen?

They helped on my 08 nomad.
Large lowers and crash bar chaps eliminated buffeting but you have to remove the chaps in the summer way too hot.

I made my own larger lowers but they did not stop all the helmet buffeting.
I made Plexiglas lowers for the top half of my engine guards and that stopped all the buffeting.
I leave them on all summer and no overheating.

If anyone is interested I have the drawing with the dimensions etc to make your own large lowers, I did it for my 1600 and a tremendous difference, virtually eliminated the lower buffeting. If you want a copy of the drawing(I hope I still have it) pm me with your email.

I made larger lowers from a spare windshield that help with lower wind around upper legs/torso and face then added crash bar chaps that really help ---- none of that changed wind over top of windshield -- im an old short fat white boy so I got the shield low as possible and cut 1 1/2 in. off of it so I can look over it with no wind in my eyes and don't notice buffeting- only 5-7 and 175 currently --- I did shave the seat so I sit a little lower and more comfort reaching the ground and changed the shape so I can scoot around a little -- don't feel like sitting in a bucket now
