Hello there.
I'm Sam. I jst found the site about two weeks ago and have spent time off and on at work reading everythign there is on both the forums and the main site. Now that I 'm finished, I wanted to join up.
I have one of the 07's with the red and titanium. No real mods yet. Just the cobra Light bar, back rest, and saddle bag lower and top rails. I know I am in the minority, but I actually am enjoying the quiet of the stock pipes right now.
I bought mine last June. Brand new. I always seem to acquire good Life's best things in June. Got married in a june, bought my truck in a june, and like I said with he bike.
I've only been ridin just under three years now. My first bike was a 94 Honda Magna. Loved it but wanted more than a 750 and a bigger back seat for the wife. so after a year and a half sold that and got the nomad the same day.I love the power of this bike, but I sure love how smooth that 4 banger was.
I am by no means an IBA guy but love to go on three our four hour rides all over the state.
I think you guys are all very knowledgable and look forward to some good chatting and expertise when needed.
Thanks for having me.
Sam

Welcome from Vermont. We are not the know-all, do-all, be-all here, but we have fun trying. You certainly pass muster with your mods, but remember; you can only add, never subtract. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
BTW, I was down you way one summer to Ft Lee in the early 90's. Went to some buffet restaurant with a buddy that had Captian in its name I think. It featured King Crab legs though. I was in that WalMart in Petersburg a week before the tornado hit it.

Hey Sam,
Welcome from the west coast of Canada. I'm relatively new to this site myself. You're going to find, like most, if not all members, that it's both entertaining and informative here at KawaNow. I haven't found one post that would be thought to be anything but friendly, positive, and at times humorous. Although I haven't met anyone in person yet,.... they seem like a great bunch of people. I sure wish I could have made the Western Region Rally this yr.. Or any of the rallies for that matter, and put some faces to the names. Maybe next yr. Any way,...enjoy! and again,...welcome.

Congrats on the bike and welcome aboard from Indiana. From the looks of your bike (nice) it doesn't seem like you need much more bling to enjoy. Glad you can call this forum home.

nothing wrong with stock pipes, I have had loud pipes I have had straight pipes, and for me now the stock is perfect. I love the long rides and the lack of headaches I used to get from all day rides with those loud pipes. You also can leave early in Sat morning without your neighbors shooting at you

Hey. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Yeah I love riding around in Virginia too. Countryside, city, mountains, ocean, and plenty of historic sites. Pretty much has everything.
As for the mods, I feel like I've just been doing the easy cheap bolt-ons. Except for how scary it was for me to drill for the top rails. I didn't realize they were over agrand a piece until afterwards. Right now I'm saving up to get some performance part like the hypercharger, jet kit and new, but still semi quiet pipes.
one thing I would like is the nice trunk with wrap around seat. When all is said and done, paint and everything, how much are they running most of you?

For a nice Scootworks Supertrunk III, padded backrest, paint, and a Wompus rack to mount it on, you're probably going to be about 1 large.
There's cheaper ways to do it, though. The Wompus rack is pretty much a given, no matter what you do. It's the best way to mount a trunk. You can buy an inexpensive Mutazu trunk (like I did), you can find a used Yamaha Venture or Harley trunk, a Givi, there's a lot of options. The top of the line is probably the trunk made by Champion Sidecar. Ask around here, everyone will be happy to offer their opinion.

Hey Sam, welcome to the forum from NY State.
Before you spend the money on , as you say, semi quiet pipes, try the baffelectomy on your stock pipes. Not loud but deep rumble and easy and inexpensive to do.

Another welcome from Texas. Another '07 Red and Titnm bought new in June (2nd). Daughter just got married June 14th. Looking for longevity on both counts. Also rather enjoy the quiet. Changed the bars and the seat. I'm looking to do other mods but...... refer to sentence #3.
