Here is the route that I'm planning on taking to the rally

I'm going to meet Valdez and his group in Tropic click here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=Denver,+CO&daddr=clifton,+co+to:uravan,+co+to:moab,+ut+to:fru ita,+ut+to:tropic,+ut&mra=pr&mrcr=2&sll=39.070379,-108.544922&sspn=4.17913,9.536133&ie=UTF8&ll=38.976492,-108.808594&spn=4.184678,9.536133&t=h&z=7) sometime on Wed. Spend the night in Tropic, then go to Mesquite on Thurs.

I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with the Castle Valley area around Moab Utah?

I would like to go from Gateway Co, over to Moab on the north side of the mountains on this map.

I don't know if I will just end up lost on a maze of dirt roads (zoom in on the map), or if there is a paved way? I'm not apposed to dirt roads, but I like straight forward dirt roads like on the Burr Trial, not a maze of roads in the middle of the desert.

I started really planning this morning, so the fun part is starting.

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with those secondary roads in that area so I can't offer any words of wisdom. Ride safe, Dan.

Got it :)

Somewhere between Moab and Zions is the most remote place in America.

Car & Driver did a story once trying to find the most remote (farthest from a paved road) place in America, then 4x4 trying to see if they could get there.

I don't remember exactly where it was, but it was in that section of Utah.

Sorry can't help you there. I would stick to HWY 6 because I'm not that adventerous

Dan, these are all verified to be "roads" right? No dry riverbeds this trip?

Dan, I really do hope to see you at the rally. My adventure is going to be straight south on I-15, your adventure could put you in the Book of Lengends. I can see it now "On moonlit nights you can hear the drum of the pipes and see the Nomad Ghost Rider still trying to find his way out of the mountains."
