Just got home with my new ( used 07 Nomad) it has 7100 miles on it now, but noticed that the windshield seems cloudy, not really clear. Talked to the previous owner, as I thought he had used wind dex or soemthing like that to clean it, but stated he only used approved plastic cleaners from the dealer.....anyone have any problems with the sahield getting a cloudy finish to it? I will try to rub it out, if not then will get a replacement, any ideas?

I've used Windex on every windshield I have ever had and never had a problem. I'm just saying :)

Try some Meguiar's clear plastic polish/cleaner. That may do it for you. It's probably just oxidation.

On my first Nomad that I put 63,000 miles on, I never used anything to clean it other than a car wash wand. I never rubbed it with any type of cloth etc.
When I sold it, it had a few pits from debris thrown up at it, but it was clear as can be with no swirl marks and such.
Don't know what happened to yours, but treated right, they can go for years and be clear as can be.

I use Plexus Cleaner on mine. It softens up the bugs and I wipe it down with a micro-fiber cloth. After using it the first time the bugs will just wipe off real easy. It also does a great job on chrome. I used this cleaner on my aircraft too and it's a great product.

When you look at it from an angle you can see where something was wiped on and it left small streaks, looks like it is on both sides......

I bet it is rain X...I was told that rain X will burn a plastic sheild, unless the sheild is rated for rain X use. Buffing is doing no good, so I ordered a clearview replacement in the light gray tint. Gonna let the dealer swap it out, due to the mounting bolts being hard to remove....lol

probably a good idea. Like gas and brakes, you need visability

My windshield is very cloudy and has lots of fine scratches in it. I just tried using polishing compound on it, rubbing it for a few minutes and after it dried I buffed it out with a dry cloth and it is better. My question is this; should I use a powered buffing wheel to really do a proper job of it or should I just do it by hand?
I only clean my windshield with tap water and a clean T-shirt. I polish it with Eagle One plastic polish. No clouds, no swirls.
