View Full Version : Garmin gps / tpms
Hey all, just looking at the Garmin GPS with the TPMS: can anyone tell me why you require metal valve stems as opposed to rubber to use the TPMS with the Garmin GPS?
Thanks

With the rubber the tpms sensor may not seat all the way down, with the metal you don't have that problem, I had rubber on mine and the TPMS leaked slightly, went to metal and never had a problem.

This is actually not just with Garmin sensors. But a quick google search found this: gpscity q&a (http://www.gpscity.com/questions?qid=41619) Checkout the final response.

It's really about putting a bunch of weight out at the end of a flexible rubber stem that is going to see a lot of high speed vibration.
