Before I spend the money on these will they work on the 1500? I know it says it will fit a 1 1/4 bar, but somebody on here had a set similar on the for sale column and stating he could not get them to work. Just want to be sure.
Thanks Bill

Pretty much those are universal mounts... The double "U" parts is for one size bars you use the smaller "U" and for larger bars, you use the larger "U" but you don't use both "U"'s at the same time.

The cones' will grab the chrome on the bars and make marks, so if you get these be very carefull where you place these pgs, and get it right the first time.

Kuraken has far better clamjps, but then they cost more.

I don't know if you would care, but I set my pegs up so my heels can rest on the boards with my toes up and about so to brake I can leave my heel where it is, and just slip my boot toe to be on the brake..

Of course that means I can hook my boots on the pegs, and or extend my legs over them...

Wrapp some tape around the bars where you want to mount them to protect the chrome. They tend to spin unless you really crank them tight. I'd go with a clamptype mount if you can afford them like Kury's.

Those look like Kuryakyn ISO peg knock-offs, but those definitely aren't Kury mounts. Granted the Kurys aren't inexpensive, but even if you ditched the mounts and used something like these:
http://store.valueaccessories.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1636 for example. You don't want your footpegs moving around on you, and these clamps won't damage your bars like those others will.

+1

There are better choices out there. Friend of mine had this type mount.
Finally changed over to Kury ISO's. Couldn't get the others tight enough....plus, as another said, leaves marks!

I have used those type mounts...And I would not reccomend those type mounts or use them myself again.
Those type are made to "dig in" to the chrome and do just that...so they won't slip.
Leaves bad unsightly marks.
The pegs you have shown may be alright to use ....but definetly use a different type mount.

I reccomend Kuryakyn "Magnum Clamps" I think they are called.....Do not slip at all....
Had these type mounts on my 900 and when I took them off to transfer them to my Nomad....Not one single mark left behind on the 900's engine guard...After two years (42,000 miles) of use.

I agree with Refugio. My Kuryakyn's highway foot pads and clamps were about $140 at my dealer. They are almost like another floor board on each side. I enjoy having my heel on the running board and my toe on the Kuryakyn pad. I like the flat pads/running boards, dont care for foot pegs.

A few extra dollars, but if you plan to ride-out a full tank before stopping, go with the Kuryakyns, and get the larger ones with offset mounts. Tons more foot/leg position options and a more solid support for your foot while putting just the right bend in the knees.

The Kury offset mounts give you a wider choice of positions, Im quite happy with mine.

I recently bought a set from JC Whitney for about $55 that are similar to those costing twice that.

That was me who said they would not work on the saddlebag 1 1/8" crash bar. They're advertised to fit 3/4 thru 1 1/4 inch bars, but I had a hard time getting them to tighten enough to not spin on the saddlebag bars...-Rich

Thanks again guys......I also saw some on Jcwhitney's site. Same mounts as the ones Valdez showed but look like the ones I want.
Same price and I still have money to buy other goodies !! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
