GPS OPTIONS FOR Vaquero

I was thinking about getting the garmin gps with the integrated GPS and XM. Then using the nav adapter cable I think it would work. I'm open to suggestions for gps and XM on the bike.

Well, I spent a small fortune up here in Canada and have the Garmin 590 (with tire pressure monitors) and the Kaw OEM mount and adapter. (The Zumo 600 series adapter works with the 590). The good news is that everything looks and performs great. I connect my iPhone and Uclear HBC200 to the Garmin. This way, I can stream music, talk to my riding buddy, and hear the voice directions from the Garmin. Especially like the "what's ahead" feature on the Garmin to identify locations for chow and gas when I'm traveling in new territory.
Note: Garmin has increased their pricing twice in Canada since I bought my unit at the beginning of the year.

But I'm curious. if I get the garmin with the xm radio Or just the garmin and use the xm box that works with vaquero and add the gps separate. Will the gps override the xm radio when driving? I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it.

The xm radio is only an option on certain Zumo's. My Zumo550 had it, but you have to purchase an antennae that is quite expensive. If you want to hear the XM thru your speakers you would want the Kaw unit for your bike. It is bloody expensive too! Not sure what you are looking for from the XM. I can stream music all day long from my phone thru the Zumo to my Uclear. Otherwise I have an iPod and radio with speakers on the bike. The funny thing is that 80% of the time I just turn everything off and enjoy the ride!

You have the same GPS options for the vaquero as you would for any other bike that doesn't have a factory installed GPS.

I'd recommend a Garmin Zumo, I believe they have one that has an integrated
XM radio tuner.

Mav 1. Where did you mount the antennae? Inside or outside of the fairing? I understand there's a bit of a Bluetooth issue if you mount the antennae too close to the display unit. I put my antennae inside the fairing and I don"t get a strong enough signal to hear any tunes. Not sure if it's the fairing or the Bluetooth issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
