Well, installed the OEM tach today and it was surprisingly simple.
Here are a few pics if anyone wants to see how it looks. Grabbed if off Amazon for $131 instead of the almost $400 is sells at elsewhere.

did you have to run wires from the tack to both coils or just one. The reason I ask is I saw a OEM tack and it had only 3 wires and my Baron had more wires and a tack adapter that had 3 wires had to use both coils. I know it is a single fire bike. Good pic's and tack looks good.

Do you have a link to that? I really like the way that looks.

Here is the exact one I ordered. Unfortunately it's went back up to $264 but that is still over a $100 cheaper than most places selling it.

There were 3 wires to run.
Two ran into the headlight housing. A red and a black. The red plugged into the yellow lead (accessory power) and the black plugged into the Black/Yellow (Accessory ground)
The last wire which was green with a piggy back connector plugged into the left engine coil.
That's it.

Where to start...
First, I love the tach. Very clean and classy looking. Good choice and good job on the bargain hunting.
Second, I love the color combo on the bike. Very striking. Beautiful.
Third, I do believe I am very jealous of that garage. I would love to have a space that big to work on my bikes and such.
Overall, 2 big thumbs up!:tup:

I paid $198.00 + tax for my Baron tack and the right coil is not easy to get to when installing. if I had it to do over I would shop around more and get the oem tack just because it is less trouble to install and it looks better. Hope this helps anyone else that wants a tack on their 1700 Nomad. Thanks KawiKyle.
