New guy here from Wilminton, DE. Picked up my '07 Black Nomad about two weeks ago and have added saddlebag rails, luggage rack and Iso grips. Sounds like a lot, but negotiated as part of my trade deal so no real extra out of pocket.
Now I'd like to add a good lightbar before I step off the ledge and install the bigger lowers.
Anybody got any advice on what they've installed and pros/cons?
Any and all advice is much appreciated.

I did mine from CWI. It is not a bar but indiviual lihts that bolt into the windscreen mounting holes. I had to have them replaced with the sealed beam fix due to premature burn out of the halogen bulbs. Retailer was very accomadating. I like mine alot.

I went with a Cobra bar and spots, nice setup, fairly easy to install, bolts right to the track that also holds the windshield. excellent chrome and nice big bar. My bro has the same setup.

Yeah, what Doc said. I installed a Cobra on my 07. I like the fact that the signal lights mount farther out on the sides and not mount hanging down as on the Harley type lightbar :)

Thanks for the input to everyone.
I hd the Cobra on my Volusia and liked the way it set up...just wanted to see if there was anything else out there I didn't know about.
I'll check out the info from flightdoc and scoot and see if it's within my "limited" mechanical abilities.
Much obliged for the posts.

I got the ones from Value Accessories, the CWI ones.
Mine came with the sealed beam lamps.
They look good and are easy to mount.

Do you have any pictures with the lights on your bike you could share?

Thats a pic of them
What's nice about the Cobra is it keeps the original lines of the stock signals. It took me a little while to get used to it.

That is them exactly. The only difference is that I put the wires in a different place. I will try to get a pic and post tonight.
I connected mine so that they come on and stay on when the key is turned on. I did not put in a switch.
One of the real nice things about these lights is the there is no bar and no moving of the signals. They just bolt on.

Mine looks exactly like these photo's. would be interested in how ccm routed his wires.
Hello, I am new to this forum, but not new to nomads. I have an 05 Nomad that I installed 4" driving lights on the oem turn signal bar with 1" chrome p clamps. Works very well.

This is the only way I can figure out how to get a pic on here, click on the above attachment and you should see a pick of my bike with a Cobra lightbar. the signal lights are straight out not hanging down. I liked the looks a lot better that is why I took this route.
I ordered a Cobra bar today from my dealer. Cobra was a hundred bucks less expensive than the KAW version from the 07 Cruiser Accessories catalog. Free mounting since I bought my bike from them doesnt hurt either. Hope to have the bar on by next Thursday, then I can light up the night.

Scoot: pretty easy hook up and bolt on?
The only complaint I have about the Cobra, 25 watt bulbs. Can't find them anywhere except Kaw dealer or Cobra. I'm hesitant to put any hotter ones, don't want to fry any wires.

Had a Volusia, eh? Were you by chance a member of the Volusia Riders forum? I was DS06C50T there but am DS06Nomad here now.

Hey Daryl:
Yeah, I spent a lot of time on the Volusia forum learning how to do stuff to customzie my C50. Great bike, good price and easy handling...but I wanted more POWER and the hardbags. I'm sure, like me, you're lovin the Nomad. I've had mine two weeks and just put a couple hundered miles on it this weekend cruisin from Wilmington DE to Annapolis MD...great ride despite the cooler temps.
Welcome aboard.

Yeah jayc, I just had a bulb go on mine. Been on the bike for a couple of months. I am going to get one from dealer for $9. Will check into sealed beam at that time. Sealed beams are $18 at dealer, don't know if they will last any longer. Also don't know if they plug in the same way as the bulbs.(spade connector)

Yeah i had a spot go out yesterday on my Cobra bar. the spots use Honda filaments and are about $8-9 a pop. easy to change out. I haven't seen a 25W sealed beam but if you could find one you could just switch em out. I think the vibration must wear the filament out. Another member on here subed 30W spots and started blowing fuses. Watch Out!

Hey Doc, I got it wired in a seperate circut with a relay and fused it according to Gadget's page. If I blow fuses can't I just replace the fuse with a higher one?

About 3 weeks ago cobra finally released the oem bar to kawasaki for the 07s. That's what i put on my 07. Looks great and pretty easy to install.

Went to dealer today and bought bulb. I asked about sealed beams ( which I ordered last night on line :'( ) and he told be they don't plug in the same way and I would have to install a different connector. The guy on line told me they plug in the same way as the bulb. I guess I'll find out in a couple days.
The dealer also said the sealed beams are no where near as bright.
I know Cobra sells the bulbs. Not sure how much. I pay 6.99 at the dealer.
Hey Topcat,
Your sig pic looks like you're in Lake Placid. Is that right? I was there this summer.

topcat: yes if your on a seperate circuit with relay i think you should be able to up the fuse 5 amp or so w/o problems. let me know how you like the sealed beams. these reg cobra spots are BRIGHT.

kawgirl, Yes that is the ski jumps at Lake Placid,NY. Did you go up in the elevator and walk out to where the jumpers takeoff from. Those guys are crazy. You sure do a lot of traveling. Is most of it on the bike?
Doc , I'll let you know if I install them. I may just send them back if they plug in differently. the dealer said they were no where near as bright as the bulb units I have now. I don't think I want to go dimmer. I want all the light i can get.
