Does anyone have any experience installing one of these on a Nomad 1700? I am getting ready to order one and it would be nice is someone could tell me which has the proper length wires for the bike. Yes, I know I can go measure but it it's just not convenient at the moment to do so heh :D
Anyone?

Get the one with the longest wires. Just coil up any excess. No problem.

I am interested to see what you do with this. Any idea where you are going to mount it? What accessories are you looking to add that you'll need this?

If I can't fit it under the seat it's going to have to mount inside a cover.
Don't tell my wife but I probably don't *need* the box but since when does need ever matter right? It's a project. heh
I'll have a phone connected in, gps, camera, a few other ports and sockets. It will just be nice to have a central location that it all plugs into. That is the thought process at least.

Sounds like good place. I am mounting a fairing on the bike tomorrow so I am hoping to mount the radio and aux fuse box in there.

I won't tell if you don't...

I will have phone and GPS, but will also run the radio through it.

Might be a pain in the butt getting at the fuse box if you mount it in the fairing. I have my fuse panel mounted behind the right side cover also a pain in the butt spot but not as bad as the fairing. Only 1 screw to take out.

The fairing has an outer that comes off. If I have to get at it.

That's like 9 screws on my fairing.

What kind of fairing? I've got a batwing that has 3, iirc.
Also, not trying to be argumentative. Just looking to utilize the space available.

Batwing. It has 3 screws on each side and 3 across the top.

Hmm, I will have to look at mine and see.

To take the front part of the fairing off I have to remove the 9 screws. The windshield, windshield trim, windshield bag, and the camera mount that I have on the bike. It would be about a half hour of work to change a fuse if I had mounted mine in the fairing instead of 5 minutes behind the side cover.
The ideal spot would be under the seat if a spot can be found. Just stick the key in, pop off the seat, and change the fuse.

sounds like a reasonable task., getting to it under the side cover. Thank you for the insight.
