Hope I did this right....here is a photo of my Vaquero with the Roaring Toyz big air and Freedom Performance 2-1 pipe. A great combo that works well with the Cobra FI2000 Tri-Pot tuner.

Thanks everyone.....and yes, each ride we all have does have it's own unique character. Here's a photo of the left sides of both my Vulcans.

I just installed the FP combat 2-1 on my vaquero Saturday gone thru 2 sets of pipes. cobra tri-ovals but didn't like them, Then the V&H pro pipe 2-1 but there's a mid range tone that hurt my ears, I liked the FP right at startup, I took it out yesterday for a long ride and WOW!! I'm impressed, these pipes mated with the EJK tuner and Tornado air kit ..kicks a$$. NOT ONE POP!! and I tried to make it...Nice DEEP BARK when hitting the throttle and mellow at cruising.

Jase....great choice. The black tip matches the black paint on your pipe nicely. I too, had that Vance & Hines 2-1 pro pipe before bolting on the Freedom unit and noticed a big difference (1) being the ground clearance, the V&H pipe was out away from the bike more and dragged on a tight right turn, even with the shocks at 35psi and (2) the installation of the Freedom pipe was twice as easy and (3), the Freedom pipe like you mentioned sounds way better and was less money. I love the deep burly sound as well. I noticed you have that chrome tip on your rear fender too....nice touch.

Thank you hlknvlcn60, These pipes do tuck under and higher, so when you're feet are down you're leg doesn't touch the pipes. The V&H's tips got chipped going out of a parking lot from being too low and also was hitting the floor board spring. Chrome with the black tips do look nice .. Black does look nice with some chrome I even put a chrome tank bib on.. But I'm done as far as upgrades goes. I'm going to just enjoy the riding season..

That's my next major mod. I am so friggin tired of having limited ground clearance on the right side when that front primary tube hits, just sucky design by smash and schmines. Also as you said I have had lots of clearance issues with contact of parts in that same area. Although I spent ALOT of time modifying this pipe. The first mod was to eliminate that horrible resonance you also complained about and then to custom fab a new end cap which acts as a reverse cone. The pipe has a very muffled tone in cruise mode and allows me some peace and quiet from a loud exhaust tone, it still barks when the throttle is twisted. I have personally heard the FP true duals and love the sound so it'll be interesting as to how I manage the sound of the FP2-1.
No doubt I will enjoy the added ground clearance, I never now when I'm gonna hit that pipe and it always jerks the skoot up, there's the "pucker factor" I won't be missing!
Glad you like the pipe and many thanx for the good info on it.

So you finally illiminated the popping Jase?. I still get it at 2100 rpm zero throttle no matter what settings I have tried. When I have a disposable 800.00 I think the FP true duals are going to go on. I am emailing Dobeck as of yesterday to see if there is a flash available to be able to add fuel at zero throttle and eliminate the damn pop. Sucks because I really like the look and sound of the V&H slip ons. :ohno:

FP is a great company and has a good PR team on the ready to answer any questions you may have. The heat shield on the front cylinder on my old "Smash and schmines and... grinds" as Ray so eloquently put it was scraping down on fast right hand turns underneath. Vance and Hines needs to address this issue especially when it comes to what they charge for the 2-1 pro pipe. The Freedom 2-1 pipe does tuck in and under significantly and like Ray said, no need to pucker up....I haven't even come close to dragging the FP pipe down. The installation on the FP pipe was twice as easy and fits perfectly. 0 regrets doing the swap.

Jase cool idea the chrome tank bib you did....I painted mine gloss black with gold flake to match the gold specks in the main paint....much better than the cheesy plastic glat black stock look. Other than that, I am done modding too....the Vaqueros really don't need much other than a few "make it your own" touches.

Jase and I have been chasing down the EJK settings for some time now trying to eliminate the decel pop at 2100 rpm. I am interested to see if he changed anything besides the exhaust.

I still get a teeny little bit of that decel burping at or below 2100 also on downshifts, but for the most part, all the decel popping is gone on mine. I did place the thunder intake manifold gasket in there and sealed it up real nice but some backfiring is pretty common to a degree on most bikes when you do exhaust and intake mods. My FI2000 is a great tuner though and has the bike running very good. I don't get backfiring at higher r's on down shifts anymore.
