I ordered a Baron tach for my Nomad. Do I need an adapter? Everyone seems to be confused with the ingnition type.

I have this tach, and I didn't need an adapter.

I have a Baron's tach and no adapter is required. Pulse wire is hooked onto blue terminal of left hand (shift lever side) coil on my 06 Nomad 1600.

Thank you both for the info. I understand that you can hook to the right coil also. Does it matter which coil? I heard the right coil is easier to connect to.

I connected to the left coil, the terminal you need is right on the outside. I didn't even loosen the gas tank to make the connection.

Either coil will work. But like 'wanderer' said, the blue terminal was easier to get to with the left coil. I bought a double spade adapter that slips over the one on the coil and put the coil wire back onto one of them and the tach wire onto the other. With needle nose pliers or really skinny fingers you should be able to do this without raising the gas tank.
