My wish/request is for health for all of you and if you still have your parents around, take the time to call them or even better is go and see them if they are close by. My mom is in the last stages of her life and battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with a cancer that is hard to get rid of, basically it is through the stomach area and sort of peppered throughout this area. Mom underwent chemo and when her health returned from that she had surgery to remove the remaining cancer pockets and her female organs. She did this in hopes that she would have another 4-5 years (she is only 69). She got an all clear blood scan and the doctor said she responded really well to the chemo. In fact he said she responded better than most. 4 months later the cancer came back with a vengeance. I now find myself crying almost daily and I try to go over everyday after work to sit with her for awhile even if she doesn't know I am there. We have been told she only has maybe a couple of weeks to live. I look at this frail woman that is nothing more than a shell of herself and hate this GD cancer. No one in my family has ever had or gone through cancer and mom never smoked or did anything that one would associate with getting cancer. I am done now. Sorry if I brought anyone down but I hope all of you take the time and realize just how short our time on earth is and take that five minutes or so to go see your parents. Merry Christmas to all and to MiVaquero prayers for your mother and the family. I do have both my parents. They are in their late 70's. I do call or go back at least once a week to check on them. So everyone please remember this season and to cherish the family that you have. This is my first year without my 2 sons, they have moved out on their own and it will a different Christmas than past Christmas's. It's not about gift's or present's, it's about spending time with the one's that you love and cherish, family and friends. Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays. Be Safe.

Merry Christmas everyone. I still have both of my parents. Dad is 88 and Mom is 87. Mom suffered a light stroke the last week of November. We were very blessed that there was no paralysis associated with it. It affected the memory quadrant of her brain. Everything seems to be coming back slowly but at first she couldn't remember who I was. She is improving daily. This could have been a terrible Christmas for all of us. But it isn't. Makes me appreciate them more than ever. So sorry to hear of your Mom's illness MiVaquero. Heartbreaking to say the least. Prayers for strength and comfort for you and your family. God bless.

Merry Christmas to everyone! My parents are also in their late 70's. My dad is recovering from prostate cancer, and mom is on dialysis after battling diabetes for 25+ years. I also have 2 sister-in-laws recovering from breast cancer. I call it the plague of the 21st century. It knows no boundaries. I've seen it even in small children. My heart goes out to anyone who has a family member going through this. God bless you all.
