Rear shock replacements?

On my recent trip to S.D., etc., I seem to have blown a seal in my rear shocks ( I have an equalizer, so, not sure which one).
Does anyone know of a place to rebuild factory shocks, or can you reccommend a good replacement shock? Progressive makes an air shock, but it's like 600.00; GULP !!
Any help appreciated!

I got checking around, and Harley touring shocks are same length; found some brand new dealer take-offs (company that does trike conversions), for 49.99, plus shipping. I think I might try them; the only difference might be the bushing-to-bolt sizes, and, I don't think I'll have any trouble with it. I never liked the fact that there is no reservoir for air in the Nomad shocks, so, it's almost impossible to set the pressure where you want it. I haul a lot of weight most of the time(we camp a lot). Harley touring models are a little heavier than Nomads, so this should be right up my alley. wish me luck!

If you use the correct type of air pump it is easy to get the correct pressure into the shocks.

I replaced the Harley shocks on my 99 Roadking with Progressive 412. They were under $300. The Harley shocks sucked! Progressive's gave a much better ride.

Ooops they were Progessive 416 air shocks that I put on.

I have spoken to a couple of people who replaced the shocks with the progressive units and they are very pleased with the new ride. Although the H.D. units seem quite attractive at that price. Using the right air pump as mentioned above makes checking and inflating a super easy task, and its accurate.

Got my new harley take off shocks for 49.99, with air line kit.
Installed them; so far they seem great! Haven't ridden much yet, will this weekend. They seem to have more "air volume" than the Nomad shocks, so, they are easier to adjust. On the nomad; every time I would use the pressure gauge, I'd lose a couple lbs..
Actually seems to ride better, too!
I'll report back when I've ridden more.
