Cool. What's the tracking number for the V+H's.....LOL....
Seriously though, where did you buy them? After the new year I may be in the market for a set too.
Have fun. At least you got warm weather. I just sit on it in the shed and make vrooom vrooom noises :D
Thanks

The exhaust came today to my surprise. Ordered on Amazon for 400.00 shipped. Came in two days. Just installed them, took about 1 hour and I took my time. What a difference. Bike sounds deep and throaty like a true v twin. Still a far cry from the samson exhaust I have on my 1500 classic. I should be able to hear tunes with no problem. I thought they would be louder.
They smoked out my garage when I started the bike and let her idle a bit. I am guessing that is the packing on the baffles burning in from start up. I am pretty sure anyway. Thoughts anyone?
I took her for a quick spin in the neighborhood. No decel popping at all. Tomorrow night I will get her on the road for bike night at Hooters.
Also my Dobeck EJK and Mustang seat should arrive tomorrow, possibly my highway pegs...I am like a kid in a candy store:tup:

I'll be damned. Amazon seems to have everything. I'll check them when the time comes. I bought tires from them last time for the Nomad. Tires from a book seller (used to be, at least). Go figure.
Sounds like the V+H's are what I'm looking for. I had the Cobras on my Nomad for many years and loved the sound. Not too loud running but a little bark when you got on it.
I had V+H's on my Shadow before the Nomad and I seem to remember some initial smoking and smells until it got burned in. Probably nothing to worry about.
Good thing about the no decel popping. Seems many had a problem until they did the fuel adjuster and intake mods.
Good luck with the rest of the mods.
Thanks

Smoking for the first couple of warm-ups on a new exhaust is very normal. You are right that it is the initial burn in of the wadding, but it is also the removal of any oils or residues left behind during the manufacturing process. Make sure you check the bolts after a couple warm up cycles.

Thanks Gypsy, I knew thats what it had to be just needed reassurance. Its been 9 years since I installed an exhaust on my 1500 classic and dont remember it smoking like that. I knew I had not changed anything that would cause the motor to smoke like that on a bike that only has 800 miles on her.
PS my new to me Mustang two up seat and EJK processor arrived today. The 12 days of Xmas continues.
