I'm looking for recommendations for USB charging kits (currently iPhone 5s) for my Nomad 1600. I like to use the phone for GPS in addition to just the ipod functionality so some type of handle bar mount would be nice too.

Ram mounts are good. I've used them for years.

If your area is anything like mine then the GPS will only work while you have a cell phone signal. I loose mine when I go to places in NH. I ended up putting a GPS on the bike.

This (http://www.rammount.com/Products/CellPhoneMounts/tabid/142/Default.aspx#/) is what my wife uses to hold her iPhone.

Get an accessory charger female (cig lighter socket) and a charger that takes a USB cord...put all of that in the left glove box. You can grab power and ground near the headlight...top right after you take the headlight out. Important part, make sure the charger and usb cable can be separated. That way when the charger gizmo wears out you don't have to rerun the cable.
Run the usb cable and also an aux cable from the left glove box along the lower fairing support...it goes right over to the triple T...then it is a straight shot up to the center of the handle bars where you would put your ram mount. You can power your phone and plug the phone headphone jack into the aux for the radio.
I use the X Grip mount linked in the post above, it rocks.

I just wired my 1500 Nomad this weekend. I used 12 gauge stranded wire with battery terminal rings and an inline 20 amp blade fuse in an inline fuse holder. Then I ran the wire under the tank forward and the forward end has an SAE mount. The fuse is under the driver seat so I can replace it if it ever goes.
Now my battery tender is easy to plug into the SAE plug near the left side of the windshield and I have an SAE to Cigarette plug adapter so I can charge USB or anything else. I also have a second SAE to USB dongle thing that also works well.
I also use the RAM mount and if you buy an app like the TomT or Garmin GPS apps the will work without cell service but the do take up space on your smart phone.
I have both a Gamin Nuvi and the Tomtom app as options are never a bad thing.

Ooh, that's cheaper and dual functionality. And your picture's way bigger than mine, that makes it more gooder lol

I purchased this last summer but have not installed it yet. Waiting for my garage to be finished and then I have many items to put on the bike.
