Enjoyed riding with everyone yesterday. Waited for a phone call until 11 today. No joy. So took off on my own. Hard to believe after a 14 hour ~ 800 mile drive I got hung out to dry by fellow VBA members. I'll think long and hard about attending the next rally.

I was "told to be at the motel by 9 to discuss the days ride", again by who? This is a bald faced lie. Don't you think that if I was told to be there @ 9 I would have been.
This is not caused by not staying at the base motel. This is caused by piss poor leadership.
I did go by the motel and the only things in the parking lot was Toms truck and trailer.
At least I was courteous enough to call Tom to tell him I would not be attending Thursdays ride as we decided to leave to break up the drive into two days.

Poor leadership my ass, this was one of the best led rallies I have attended. The rides were great and comradery even greater.
If you want ot pass the blame that is up to you, but next time you attend a rally of any kind, either stay with the group or take the incentive to find out the info.

Count your blessings that I wasn't nominated for Rally Coordinator. I only know Harley boys and it would have been wake up around 10, start riding to bars around 11, drank beer, eat nachos, shoot pool, smoke cigarettes at about four different bars until about 2 in the morning. Ride back to the motel, drank some more beer, talk about who's ass you almost whupt, pass out and do the something the next day after you go bail out who ever got pinched for a DUI. :shrug:

It'll be about a ten mile loop. :D

I think that's why they get up and leave me sometimes too. I've caught them many times coasting their bikes down a hill before cranking them. Notice a base motel is always on top of a hill. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! Ever noticed a base motel is always on top of a hill? Custer, Estes, Helen, Maggie Valley. All of the at the top of hills and/or mountains. Where was Super 8? If you guessed on top of the highest mountain in Elkins you guessed right. Having a rally at the same motel is virtually unheard of, except with this bunch. :wtf:

..Kill'en cat's....I had a experience once upon a time up in BC Canada...a guy I knew owned a ranch out in the bush..had a big yellow tom cat there ..he told me 'dont try to pet that cat, he's tame as for being around here but he's mean...so I left that cat alone (I love all cat's..up to the size that might be able to drag me away)

..One day here comes some forlks from the lower 48..from LA..er the Gay Bay..as they opened the door on the car to get out...their two little dog's bounced out..spotted that big cat and went hell bent after him...He Didnt Run --instead he attacked the dog's...ran one off and got the other one down...the owner ran over and kicked the cat loose from the dog, when the cat landed..he sprang back and climbed that guy like a snubbin post in corral..and went to ripping the guy's neck and shoulder...the guy go the cat off himself..grabbed his dog's and headed into 100 mile house (about 30 miles)to the vet...& the doctor.. In the end the Dog died...the owner had to have stitches..and they never came back !

That having been said, I'm a pretty good guy and I think he'll be pleasantly surprised how much fun we can have together. :yep:
