So I've been all over the web investigating this and I found a couple threads detailing how it's done to "other popular brands" complete with parts lists using Monroe shocks for a corvette and other components easily had for about $200.

The shocks are 14" completely aired up and close to 9.5 dropped. My concern is tire to fender clearance when slammed or during catastrophic failure of the shocks while riding.

I don't know anything about suspension and I've searched and searched to no avail so I'm turning to y'all in the know.

Is there a way to set the bottom most compression on a shock or add bump stops so no matter what the tire and fender never meet?

There should be several post about shocks in the forum.. Not sure if Car shocks were addressed but some have used Harley Air Shocks, you need to change the bushing's I believe. From what I read they have good results. Sorry no help on car shocks or fender clearance but the gear heads will chime in soon Please post what you end up doing :)

Once I find the time to get her on the jack and take the shocks off I'll check clearances. I know a few members have installed kits, I'm just not looking to drop a grand if I don't have to. I'm just trying to figure out how slammed these bikes will get without jacking up the tire and fender.
