I've read the comparisons between the 1600 and 1700 Nomads and the consensus seems to be that the 1600 has larger rider accommodations. What about the passenger room though? The passenger seat on the 1700 is 14 inches long by 13 wide. Does the 1600 have a larger passenger area than the 1700?

They will sit considerably closer to you. The amount of room between the two of you is less. So the overall room the passenger has is smaller in front of them. They are not right up against your back but it is very noticeable.

Are you saying that about the 1700? The 1700 is tighter?

Less room between rider and passenger on a Voyager compared to a 1600 Nomad.
I have had both.

All the 1700s that I have ridden (Voyager, Vaquero, and Nomad) are fiscally smaller than my 1600 in both the rider and passenger areas.
