Just wondering if anyone has any experience riding on a Propad seat pad? If so, do they really help the butt or not worth the $100 bucks or so they sell for?

Generally, seat pads are at best a temporary solution. They are not an adequate substitute for a quality aftermarket seat.

I agree completely, just I have a 6 hour ride coming up in couple weeks....no time or $$ for rebuild like Daylong like I'd like to do. Kaw gels have been a letdown. Wasn't sure whether to drop the $100 or just grin and bear it.

Get the Airhawk. Best on the market and there is nothing like it:

True but also not nearly as expensive, for the most part. There are quite a few who swear by the Airhawk and, even at close to $200, it's a fraction of a RDL.

I hope your plan isn't to buy it with the intention of returning it after your trip.

Negative, but it is a good feeling to know you're not stuck with something that doesn't work. For a company to stand behind their product this way, they must know they have a good thing.
But no, actually I hope it works out great. I don't get to take long trips often, so a $180 cushion that works makes much more sense than a $600 seat upgrade that may or may not be the answer.

You could have a Mustang seat at your door in a few days.

Yeah, but at $620 since my current backrest would not work with the Mustang. Not in the cards right now.

....and I thought you were "out of pocket"...lol. And in NC, we use it all the time or I do anyway.

I tried a gel pad for a while and it didn't really make any difference, It would heat up something awful if left out in the sun.

I like the Airhawk and have been using it for 4 years and I just got the newer Airhawk R. I like it even more then my first one.

That being said, I will be looking forward to seeing Brads RDL and if I like it, I will have one made for me.

Love my Airhawk, friends use them as well and everyone is pretty happy with them. Has stood up pretty well for a few years, some long trips, and no issues.

You Nomad guys have a bunch of aftermarket seat options. I can think of 6 or 8, ranging in price from $50 to well over a grand. I love my bike but I have 3 options and 2 of them are well over a grand. Be thankful for the options you've got.

I have a Mustang seat and on the long rides I use the air hawk and I wouldn't go without it, half the battle is finding the right amount of air. to much or to little and my back and butt would hurt but now after a little messing around its nothing to go none stop between fill ups with no pain other then my passenger squawking

Just did a 400 mile day on my airhawk. I don't think I could find better comfort on any other seat. They are great. Like stated previously dont put too much air in it.

Ok, got the Air Hawk and have got to test it only 2x now for about 30 mile each.
I'd say it makes a huge difference in your cheeks and tailbone. I'm not getting the burn I did get very quickly. The true test will be this upcoming weekend with a 6 hour drive ahead. It does take some getting used to though. This thing between me and the seat feels awkward at first, sits you up higher and kind of changes all your footpeg settings. I'm playing with the air adjustments now and it does feel like the best is with just a small amount of air in the unit. We'll see and keep you updated.

I know your not in Canada, but the best seat pad I have used, and still do use, is a $9.95 (on sale) gel like car seat pad from Canadian Tire, I did a 12 hour ride with that in very hot weather and it was great. I have tried propads, sheepskin, air seat, and always go back to the car seat pad.
