Is anyone running Michelin 180 / 65 / 16 Commander II on your bike? If so any issues?

I'm running them front and back. Very good tire. Hoping to get over 20K out of them like advertised!

Yes - front and back. But, they are brand new with less than 10 miles on them. The Nomad sits in my basement in Nebraska while I work in NC. That will soon change as my "big ride" west this June and July will exceed 8,500 miles in 32 days!!!

I have them on my Voyager. 15,000kms so far and lots of tread left.

I have 130 on the front and 150 on the back of my '04 Nomad.

Can't complain a bit. Great tires.

Only other tire I would put next to it would be the Pirelli P66.

They ride great too.

May not last like the commander II's though.

Front and back on my 06 Nomad .. I like them, much better than stock.

Just put one on the front. Whatever tire you go with, get the bead balance as well. Never used it before, but when I had my front Michelin put on, instead of the weights, I went with bead balance (silicone beads put inside the tire that roll around with the wheel). Supposedly increases tire life, better balances and gives a better ride. I only have it on the front and I did notice a big difference in riding.

16,000 miles on rear and 18,000 on front. 130/90 B16 front and 180/65 B16 on the rear. Run 40PSI Front and Back at 70deg F. Here is a post with pic's. Look on page 2 post#17. http://www.vulcanbagger.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37426

No issues. I'm on my second rear 180/65, got almost 20K miles on the first one. Front has 6k, still looks new.

Has anyone ran a Commander II 150/80r-16 Rear tire on the front? I really want to stay with the wider tire.

There are pro's & con's. My own experience in changing the 150 front on my Nomad down to a 130 was that the bike became much more responsive, very much easier to throw into a corner, then equally as eager to be thrown back into another the other way. That 130 brought the bike alive. I would never have gone back to a 150, and later Nomads than mine and the Voyager all have 130 fronts OEM.

I agree with this 1000%, I love the feel of the bike in corners with the 130 up front. Bike is way more responsive and the look is not that much different.

Been back riding only the last couple of years after to long of a vacation and replaced my stock tires with the commanders and have nothing but good to say about them, took the advice of most of the guys on here and bought a set and after about 11,000 kms I don't have one regret

I will add my $.02 here as well I have now put over 10,000 miles on my rear and 5,000 on my front and I will never buy another tire. The rear is finally starting to show wear, looks to be 40-50% worn, and the difference in handling at all speeds with the 130 on the front is like night and day.

:D Love the Commander II's

Front and back on 12 Voyager. Rear has about 7300 miles on it and still has 6/32s tread depth, just checked it this morning. Front has 2900 miles and 4/32s tread. Ride and handling are good for the way I ride, not overly agressive, and mostly 2up. Just wish they came in wide white walls. Hear that Michellin?

Put a Commander II on the back of my Vaquero. Absolutely love it in when it's dry outside. Great feel and feedback. Decent grip. Very nice ride.

Finally had it in the rain a "bit" the past week and a half, and I'm not happy with the wet weather handling. Felt like I was ice-skating. Seemed like every corner I went in to, I ended up drifting out of...which I've been wanting to practice on this bike...so I guess it's not all bad.... :???:

Ordering a front today, and I'm probably going to get the 888, and will match that on the back when it's time.

UPDATE-

Ordered a Pirelli Night Dragon for the front. Prob fewer miles that the 888 or the Commander II, but grip is more important to me. Should be here today...feedback to come.

I just went with a 140/90/16 on the front and 180/65/16 size on back. Dealer did not want to drop me two sizes to 130 on the front. Has improved handling, but only had them on for a few weeks.

Basically what Peg said. Running the Commander IIs front and back. Love them so far. I considered the same thing (putting The 50 rear on front) but after seeing the two sizes next to each other, hardly any difference. Couldn't be happier with the result. 180/65/16 on rear and 130/90/16 front.

I had the Commander IIs installed about 4 weeks ago. Noticed a definite positive difference in handling, mostly I and out of curves. Only have a little over 200 miles on them but more than satisfied with them so far.
